I found a place for Cushion foam. http://www.thefoamfactory.com/ Anybody ever have an dealing with them? Looking for new foam for the V birth. Mine is three inches think and whould like to keep it that way but good a firm. I don't want to be sleeping on a piece of plywood.

I bought my memory foam from overstock.com

We bought our foam from overstock.com, thinks it 3 inches also, it' about 2 years old and held up well, need to get one for the aft cabin!

Quint, did you do a topper or mattress? We want to do decent quality 9-10" memory foam mattress (firm) but would rather not hack up a new tempurpedic to fit the oddball pedestal shape.

Just bought my 3" foam from Overstock for $52.00 total. I bought a mattress cover to go over the foam. I hope it works.

I bought two king size 3" toppers and cut them to fit vee-berth and mid-cabin. Very pleased.

So, two of the regular kings did both v birth and mid cabin? I see there's a cal King, don't know what that size even is?

How did you cut it? Quint, this is in the cushins right?

The best way to cut these mattresses is with an electric knife. Trust me. I tried razor blades and a regular knife and it hacked it up. Ran to walmart and got a cheap electric knife for less than $10 and it's amazing! It slices through it like butter. Perfectly straight cut.

Yes two kings did both. I made one large "overlay" piece for the aft cabin and three separate pieces for vee-berth cushions. Cut it with a razor knife but an electric knife is best.

Electric knife is the ONLY way to get a clean cut!

Another vote for the electric knife....cuts any shape with ease. We used the 4" foam for our aft cabin berth as I could never get comfortable in the V-berth.

We bought the 4 inch temprapedic foam off eBay for both cabins. Paid less the $50 total for the new rolls and WISH we would of known about the electric knife trick then!

Looking for that 4 inch teprapedic foam off ebay?

I just received my foam from the Foam Factory, I bought 4 inch, see if that will work with the orginal cover's for now. (this winter new) I Went to some store's to feel the memory foam and didn't think it would work for me. This stuff feels really nice, no way I'm going to feel the plywood with this stuff but wasn't cheap. Off to Walmart to buy a cheap eletric knife in the morning.

What is the best way to use the electric knife? When I cut mine I opened it, and let it expand as directed, and then layed is on top of the mattress and used scissors to cut it, following the countour of the mattress. I could see myself slicing up the mattress with the electric knife.....
