Hey guys,
I realize that some of you are well aware of this product, but they have an amazing promotion on right now. Whether you are running diesel or gas engines, here is a great deal for all of us interested in verifying that “sweet spot” and saving some serious coin while doing so. FloScan’s special pricing + 0% factory financing deal is sure making it quite affordable & easy to own. I have ordered the 90000-20B-2 unit for my twin 454 gassers that will interface with my Garmin 545-S GPS unit. Check out this link for their promotional information. http://www.floscan.com/html/blue/index.php
Before floating our boat this spring, I will do a complete tune up replacing the coils, plugs, wires, caps & rotors before installing the new FloScan unit. After completing the installation, I will be logging data collected from this unit starting at planning speed all the way up to WOT at 200 RPM increments. Stay tuned for the results.
In addition to our regular boating activities, we will be cruising to the Finger Lakes area this summer (10 day trip) via Alexandria Bay N.Y. to Oswego. On the return trip, we will cross Lake Ontario to Kingston, Ontario & then back to home port at Rockport, Ontario in The Thousand Islands area of the St. Lawrence River.
From a financial point of view, I anticipate that this FloScan unit will certainly be a beneficial tool forme.
Regards ~ Ken

Another option is the Lowrance model LMF200 w/ EP60R sensor. You need to buy 2 sensors for twin screws, but the total cost is still only around $250. Jim at BOE has them on his site.

I just installed them last weekend. Total install time was about 4 hours with me and a helper. Very easy project. Display is the same size as other gauges, so it blends in nicely, although may be too small for some peoples preference.

Never installed mine last season after purchasing in April, but 2 members of the boat club I belong to did on their boats, and were very happy with their performance. Won't splash my boat for another 2 weeks, so the jury is still out, but first trip will be a long one. I'm sure to have more feedback then.
