At the recommendation of a friend (RONDDS) :smt038 here on CSR, I contacted a Mid-West Westerbeke tech for advice on why my WB 5 KW genny with only 60 hours was hunting. My attempts of contacting the Northeast rep, for advise or warrantee service got nowhere. I also contacted local WB distributors and got zero help... Anyway... The Mid-West guy came through. He told me how to adjust the gain on the genny, and I was able to get the hunting down to a level that does not concern me. Before adjusting the gain, the genny would only run well under a heavy load (AC+Water Heater or AC and Stove). The WB rep also told me that the 5 KW low profile genny's a are don't handle the ethanol gas well, and they need to run. He recommended removing the bowl on the carb and draining it.. I will do that in spring commissioning... My thanks to the Mid-West WB reps...
