We're out on the river tonight for our first overnight trip. I Q'd up some filet mignon and yellow fin tuna with a baked potato for dinner. I'll post pictures tomorrow when we get home.
I put the canvas up for the first time also and it almost kicked my butt, it did not want to line up very good.

The canvas is usually a struggle to put up for the first time or anytime it's been down for any length of time. Once you get it fatstened and it sits in the sun it loosens up a bit
Overnighting is fun. I thought about spending the night on my boat tonight but they are forecasting thunderstorms. Not too many more nights left in this season, but I hope to get another overnighter or two in before the the boat comes out of the water.

Oncde you get the hang of the canvass it will be much easier, It took me a few times as well. An overnight trip makes all the money you paid worth it.

We love to overnight in a local cove.
Last night was a concert nearby where you could usually listen to be storms kept us on land.
As stated Canvas hard to do initially but stretches!

Another tip with the canvas is to get everything loosely attached with zippers only 1/4-1/2 pulled to a full zip. Once you have all the buttons on and the track in place along the windshield, then come back and zip all your zippers the rest of the way.

It was a nice night, cool but not too bad. The bed isn't as comftorable as we'd like but we survived. Either way it's nice to spend the night on the water and it does indeed make the purchase of this boat worth it.
We woke up to light rain this morning so it was nice to have the canvas up. I figured that once the canvas was up for a little while it would stretch out a little.
We ended up not taking too many pics but here is one of my lovely wife and dinner.

Looks like a great time, That is on my things to do list for next year - We stay at the marina a dozen or so times a year but never "on the hook"

Quick question - With that magma grill mount you have can you leave it in place while underway?

LK

I have left this one on while underway but I wouldn't do it in rough water. I have an Olympian grill on it right now and it's a little heavy but I don't know the weight of the Magma.
I will be putting a Magma on it over the winter.

Cool! Staying overnight at different marinas and coves around the Puget Sound is our favorite part of owning the boat. I agree that the bed leaves a bit to be desired - but it's kinda like camping.

The funny thing is, we had a 94 Bluewater cuddy before this and it's bed was extremely comfortable. Go figure.
I'll take this one over the old one any day though.

For more comfort, try getting a pillow top after market matress cover. They custom make them for your bunk from factory dimensions or a template you provide. I think the company is "pillow toppers."

Buy some 4" memory foam to put on top of the bed. Makes for a wonderful sleep!

Thank you Jack and rcmafgny, I was thinking memory foam and cutting it to fit.
I will also check out pillow toppers.

wyrman, congrats on your first overnighter. It opens up a whole new dimension to your boating lifestyle. We just got back last night from a 4-day trip up the Snake to Fishhook Park. We had friends visiting from MI so we went up Thursday and just got back Sunday evening. A good time was had by all and we escaped the haze/smoke that's been hanging over the TriCities for the past few days.

BTW, your dinner menu sounds yummy!

I saw that you were out Mike. I'd like to venture up the snake sometime but still haven't navigated the locks.
I did get my radio installed so now it's just a matter of doing it.
The smoke wasn't too bad Saturday night.
