Finger Lakes

Planning on doing a vacation in the finger lakes this summer.
Has anyone done this ?
What are things that we should do.?
What marinas should we visit.?
Will we find transient mooring?
Are there any issues with having 2 50ft boats moving around on these lakes.?
The 2 lakes we are planning to visit are Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake.

The more info the better.

It's been many years since we have done the Finger Lakes, but a few names that stand out in my mind on Cayuga Lake are Castelli's & Hibiscus Marinas. We had good experiences there. We also stayed a few days at Allan H. Treman State Marine Park. We called the Green Hornet taxi and they drove us into Ithica for shopping, etc. We even rode their city buses out to a few major shopping centers. There are several vinyards scattered along the lakes that have docking for visiting boaters. One location even came down to the dock and drove us back and forth to their vinyard in a 4WD mule. We stayed a few days at Port of Oswego Marina where we hitched rides for golfing, shopping and even a night out to the local stock car track. That's enough for now ... my brain is hurting with all of this recalling.

Hey Steve i did the cayuga lake in 2003 with my 40 silverton,stayed at the state park docks in ithaca.went to a few different falls while there and toured cornell u.There were some wineries with docks and edibles then .Our trip started near monroe michigan,then the erie canal to seneca.The lake is quite deep and there isnt much growth like seaweed for an anchor to grip except on the north end which is marked chanel from the lock to the main lake.There was a small marina with fuel near the lock but i dont know if it is still there or if they have gas and deisel.Wish i had more to offer.Glen
