FINALLY found an 84' 255 AJ to buy!

I am in Lancaster, about 90 mins from Phily. But i do get over that direction every now and again. Feel free to PM me if there is anything I can do to help you in this process.

I appreciate it! It's going to take several weeks to maybe a month to get up there to get the boat.

Thanks!
Do you have any good pix of the back bench seat in your AJ?

What ever is in my album is all I have right now. My boat is in storage and I won't have access to it until it launches.

Those are great! Is the whole bench removeable? Looks great!

I know what you mean, my new to me boat is sitting 3 hours away from me and I won't get it back here till the end of April! Man its been a long winter.

Let me know if you need anything until you get a chance to get up here and tow her back with you.

Will do, and thanks again!

I found a trailer today, I pick it up on Saturday in Chattanooga. It's a 10,000lb. capacity tandem that was used for a Four Winns 2790 and hauled a 290 SeaRay a few times. Anyway, it should be perfect for the AJ...Overkill is a good thing!

This is the parting shot from yesterday...sorry but it's all I really have unless a link to the site would be interesting???

Here's two pix of the trailer in case anyone is interested in that too.

The whole bench is removable. The seat base is one big frame that is latched to the floor in front and simply lifts out. It does make it a pain to get into the bilge because the cushion bases are heavy and there is no where to store any of the stuff while you are servicing the engine. But it seats 5 easy and is a great place to take a nap.

I spoke to an interior guy today who was suggesting a two piece base setup to make it easier to remove for service or if we go fishing/snorkeling.

I'm now thinking about heading up to get the boat in the next two weeks...it's KILLING me to own it and not be doing something to it!!!

Winter? It was 60 degrees down here today!

-13 degrees F here today with a windchill raiting of -35 degrees F

Picture below is from earlier this week.

You can keep that weather up there. By the first of April I'll be on the water! Woohoo!!!

I'm heading up next week to get the boat. I sold the trailer I bought down here and made a bucks on it. The dealer is selling me a much larger and heavy duty galvanized aluminum trailer. He's putting the boat on it and setting it up for the boat. Pics when I get back with it.

Sweet! Good luck on the tow, hope all goes well!

I've already been talking to the upholstery shop, they're going to build a bench all the way across the back and attend to some other odds and ends...cockpit cover, repair existing top, bimini top...etc. The list of things to do needs to stay short as I really want to use this year as a shakedown. We may be taking it to Mexico Beach in June for some King/Snapper fishing and some snorkeling. I've missed having a boat!!!

Good luck with the back bench. It's a great place to stretch out and nap!

You must have really wanted an AJ pretty bad to travel from Atlanta to PA to get one.
Im in Baltimore and theres actually a few of them in this area for sale. A couple 270's and a couple 255's. One actually belongs to my canvas guy and its also an 84 and could probably get that dirt cheap. He owns so many boats he doesnt know what to do with them all ... lol.

They are great boats and after my repower, I just cant get enough time on the water.
Although with the gas prices rising this year, i think my trips are going to be a bit shorter.

Cant wait to see more pics of your AJ!! Congrats!!

By the way ... Good choice on that 10,000 # trailer.
The specs may say the boat weighs 6,000 pounds but when mine was in the slings i was told she weighed 9000!! The worst part was it was in the slings ready to be placed on my new 7,000 capacity trailer ... lol. but I dont travel far and its working fine. I only trailer it in the spring to launch it and in december when I pull it to bring it home.
