Hi Guys,
I'm a little new to this and so is my Admiral. Apart from forgetting to pull the fenders in after slipping off the berth, (a joint oversight that we both noticed once on the plane), the Admiral has had difficulty tying the fenders back on again when berthing. That is she either ties them too high or too low and is fearful of dropping one in the tide while easing down the marina (wouldn't like to catch a stray rope and fender in the prop!). I have fender baskets on the bow rail but frankly they reduce visibility unacceptably so I don't use them. I thought about a stainless steel carabena attached to a pre determined length of rope on the fender....just clip it to the railing coming in, unclip going out. But will that chaff the gelcoat? What do you guys do or suggest? What is best practice.
Thanks
Terry
