Greetings,

We will be going to Fayette this summer, never been there before. Looking for pointers, suggestions, cautions, must haves, etc. Looking forward to the trip. Heck, looking forward to the snow melting!

Thanks

Are we talking Fayette AL, IA, ME, MI, MO, MS, NY, OH, UT, CA?

Thanks, I am familiar with the various cruising guides; looking for some first hand knowledge from folks that have been there.

Salty Dog,

I have been there, but not via boat. We did, however, see a rather large cruiser tied up in the harbor. It'd be rather quiet IMO. The scenery is beautiful.

I think the harbor is rather deep, as it had to accomodate some large ships in it's day, so I think you'd be fine.

I hear Fayette is a great place for rocks, Petosky stones generally speaking... Sorry we can't make that trip with you Paul, would love to though, but the North Channel is calling at us this year..

Solvation,

Understand no power/water. Are there heads ashore in the park. What has been your experience with getting a spot on the dock?

Looking at Escanaba after Fayette. What is slip availability usually like there?

Robert, wish you two were going with us as well, we will hook up though.

Thanks for your feedback.

Wow, sounds like Fayette is really roughing it,...... I don't know what to think about No power No water...but as long as it's beautiful over there, it will be wonderful....
Paul I wish we were going as well, and yes we MUST hook up this summer and have a great time.... I'm sure we will see you two somewhere's in the North country.............

H'mm...42' boat, a/c, hot shower, microwave, fridge, ice maker, DVD player, queen sized bed,genny...........Sounds like sheer hell.

I know, personally I don't know what they are going to do and how they are going to live... on that boat without water or shore power, if it were me... I'd go stir crasey, but you see paul and his wife are already there....crasey I mean....

One sure thing to remember is a spare genny impeller (I am a convert now). You would hate to loose power and have to take a cold shower!

We are planning to go with you and experience camping with a little luxury. I want to find that bar that is up the road about a mile.

I guess we could raft up if we had to.

Sure something to look forward to now that nicer weather is starting to prevail.

Well............... Welcome Home Ron and Laura, sorry we won't be going with you on this trip, we are doing the North Channel at the same time ya all are doing Fayette....

Good to see you online and on the CSR board once again... hey I'm coming to Spring Lake tomorrow Dude.... Thursday... He He..Can't wait..

Escanaba is a large marina and there's always space available. Fayette is a bit of roughing it, but it's worth it. Washington Island is also a great place to stop and explore. Give us a hail when you are about to come. If I'm not at port I will leave a key for the car.
