Anyone watch quali’ today? Even though we’re on the beach, I couldn’t miss it. Pretty interesting to say the least. Gonna miss it live tomorrow, so I’ll watch it tomorrow evening - beer pending.

oh yeah, should be quite the season. My 4 year old loves Ferrari so he’s pumped for tomorrow. I was happy to see Valterri put up a good lap in his post Mercedes’ era

No, I was in a bilge all day doing wiring, installations, and cleaning.

I didn’t say anything about it because I didn’t want to spoil any info. I’m glad to see a mix up of cars. I wished McLaren would have performed better. HAAS with Magnussen, and Botas looked good in the Alpha.

not a good showing for the Aston’s. Impressive for hulk to just jump in and go, though.

Why aren’t we talking about MErc? Hahaha:D

Yes. Nico ‘Hoy Yolk En Beeyorg’ hopefully will perform today with the race setup. Unfortunately I’ll have to watch it this evening. We’re taking the kids (myself included) to Kennedy Space Center around noon. I’ll watch it tonight on the app.

haha, I’ll keep quiet until later then. Don’t want to blow it for you :)

Avid 45 year F1 fan here. Also long time Ferrari fan. Did watch qualifying yesterday and what breath of fresh air that was. Last season was one of the best I've watched even tho I don't agree with the outcome. I hope this season proves as competitive.

Very surprised with Mercedes and McLaren performances, especially McLaren.

Oh, and Daniel is losing time for excuses. He's getting his butt handed to him on a platter by Norris.

Been an on and off F1 watcher. Actually went to the Detroit Grand Prix twice while working for Cars & Concepts. Nothin going on this morning so I'll try to remember to watch. I missed Sebring yesterday.

How are you guys watching F1 these days? It is not broadcast on any of the big three? Do you need to subscribe to F1? I used to watch only F1 and then some how migrated to Indy and Nascsar. Caught a few F1 races in Longbeach back in the day but in recent years I rarely find myself with time in the middle of the day to watch anything on TV especially after I bought the 506! Something is wrong here, I should be spending time on the boat doing nothing not doing a second career:mad: Carpe Diem

ESPN has the US contract so it’s always on there, streamable on their app too. F1 TV is another option, and I think you can stream it with Sky Sports with some provider logins.

I am not in the F1 Club. The cars are awesome.

I am a huge racing fan. As I have said in other threads I have been to over 150 IndyCar and NASCAR, F1 races. When Formula One first came to Indianapolis I bought 10 season tickets. We went until after the 2005 race.

Saturday before the race I was out of town photographing a wedding. I drove into town the morning of the race. The race started I watched the cars drive around and then on the second lap there were only six cars. I called up a friend of mine and asked him what the hell was going on. He told me about the tires.

People were pissed. While I was walking around I talked with fans and apologized that they had come from afar to watch this crap.

I also remember three years earlier when the leader(Schumacher)slowed down on the last lap and the other guy won.

“But in his effort to right a wrong today, Schumacher engineered a fraudulent finish”’

He did this because of the race in Australia. Where by team orders one driver pulled over to let the other one win.

That is not racing. It is a scripted movie. It is not what I pay money to see.

I subscribed to F1 TV and caught the race. Now that I’m paying for it I’ll get back into it.

I’m trying not to read this thread so it’s not spoiled for me when I return this evening.
I subscribe to the F1 app.

I cut the cord on cable several years ago and now subscribe to F1 TV (https://f1tv.formula1.com/). It's has great content and you watch when and where you want. It costs about $70 for an annual subscription. Just to add live TV to hulu is $70 a month!

All sports have their controversies and certainly F1 hasn't been immune. The Indy race was a joke, the rain shortened 'race' of last year was ridiculous, and the drama on the last race of last year that decided a championship wasn't its finest hour either.

That said, @MrHappy , you're throwing NASCAR out there as purity of sport?? Please. Fake yellows to bunch everyone up. Purposely pushing competitors into the wall to take them out, fabricated driver drama, etc. It's like the WWE of auto racing.

Indy cars on road courses are great to watch. Even though been to Indy 7 times and many TMS races here locally I just can't get excited about oval racing.

Great race. Cant wait to find out what happened to the Red Bulls.
Wollf said he's Taking a chainsaw' to the Mercs.
If Mercedes and Red Bull figure out what is wrong with their cars, and Ferrari keeps cranking along, this could be a great year.
And Kevin Magnussen takes 5th in a car he had never driven a little over a week ago?! - Go Haas!

This crap happens in all forms of motorsport - I think it was Clint Boyer in Nascar that did an intentional spin to bring out a yellow after some 'coded' conversations between him and his crew chief. The yellow aided his team mate.

As for the Indy F1 Michelien, by their own admission, discovered they did not have tires that could stand up to Indianapolis corner loads and since no one really looks forward to dying, the guys on Michelins did not race, the guys on Bridgestones did.

Sebring was entertaining. One of Wayne Taylors guys inexplicably went through the penalty box area at the end of pit lane not through the RFID scanner at pit out. Got them a drive through penalty and probably cost them the win. Then NBC sent one of their guys over to get Taylor's thoughts on the matter - I thought Taylor was was going to jack the reporter....

Wow , what a race - just finished it. 3 Red Bull/ Hondas detonated. I hope they figure it out. Good for Ferrari, I hope they have a banner year. Haas turned out which was great. Merc looks solid and ready to build up. Still bummed out about McLaren. Hope they figure it out.
