Hello,
I recently purchase a 98 250DA in Florida. It has no Air Conditioning, or genset but does have shore power hookup and a 20amp 12vdc output marine battery charger.
I am considering the Marvair 5000 btu 12 volt unit. This has the brushless DC motor-compressor. It pulls 30amps nominal at 12vdc according to the literature. I would like to run it while at anchor, overnight.
Anyone have experience with this brand or marine 12 volt DC air-conditioners in general? If it really performs, I would rather invest in a few deep cycle 100 AH batteries and not deal with installing a genset. Thanks in advance.
Steve
