Every been burned on eBay purchase?

I got had on eBay once for a $1500 purchase. I noticed the seller had a 100% rating, while I was waiting for my shipment, she had 8 negative feedbacks in one week, I got nervous an notified Paypal but they wouldn't do anything for 30 days. By that time she emptied her account. Paypal gave me $150 for their "insurance". I got pissed and emailed all of the buyers that got had that week, 10 in all. We all filed a claim with the FBI which triggered an investigation. I also emailed her with an ip tracker in the email, from that I was able to pinpoint her house. When the investigator called me, I was able to tell him her name, her parents name, her address, and how old she was. He was impressed and knew the address as a well known crack house. Long story short, I got her put away for 6 years and she's still paying me back, well kind of. I get like $40 every 6 months.

I had a bad experience on ebay. I had not used my account for maybe three years and one day i get home from work and there is a phone message asking if I knew the big screen TV I just bought was a pick up only in California. I called him back and said I did not bid on your TV. I went and checked the account and it said I had bought $30000 worth of big screen TV's. It looked to ebay like a bot had hacked my account bought a bunch of TV's and spammed the sellers with a advertisement for a TV seller. I still have a negative rating as a result of it. Some of the sellers were good with it and some think I was trying to scam them. Ebay had a whole process to follow to address the issue so it must happen regularly.

CoralReefer, Now d*ck him around with the payment !!.

I would like to learn how to send an IP tracker in an email. It would have come in handy a few times...

i buy, sell, and trade on ebay, and four other sites continously for the last ten yrs--auction arms, gunbrokers, guns america ,e-bay,outdoor traders--(not burned yet!)
first- i don't like using paypal for any items --as they are owned by e-bay , and their stance on guns,buuuuuuuuuuut--sometimes you just have to follow suit !
second-they have somewhat of a guarentee
note--always check feedback
third-something i found out a few yrs.ago--if you are buying from a private party--use --USPS-- money order only,as this is only purchased through the post office, and when the party picks it up they have to sign for it --if something goes bad with transaction--you can file fraud charges w/post office or US GOV whatever you want to call it --then they are the go get em er's:smt021--not nice to fool with US GOV !

Never had a problem with e-bay. Just check the feed-back before buying. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use "Western Union" for anything no matter what they say.
Remember! Western Union = Delete, Delete,Delete...
