I can't find non ethanol fuel around here, and after hearing everyone rail against using 10% ethanol in a boat, I picked up some "Ethanol Stabilizer". It claims to prevent the damage caused by ethanol in gasoline, as well as stabilize gasoline. Any one ever use this stuff?

I've used Star-Tron stabilizer since I've had the boat and no problems at all so far. I treat every fill up and use it when I winterize also.

I too, use Startron and have had no issues. It is highly recommend by many people. I buy non-ethanol gas as much as possible, are you using ethanol gas?

I've been running E10 for years now, as I can't find anything else, and have never had a problem. But I bought some stabilizer and will start using it.

Hey Mike, I fill up at an Exxon just before the launch site, and they have 10% ethanol 87 octane. Seems to run fine with it so far. I used 93 octane once and didn't see any difference.

I have been told that gasoline with up to 9% ethanol can be labeled "ethanol-free". Once it hits 10%, it has to be disclosed. Can anyone confirm or deny? Hate to pay extra for ethanol- free if it is actually only 91%.
I have used Sta-Bil Marine formula in my waverunners for years and started adding it to the boat after hearing of the "9%'' labeling.

I have been using 10% for years no problem. Add a can of Seaform every once in a while.

I understood that they do not need to identify on the pump that it contains ethanol up to the 9%.
Basically any gas you buy with no identification other than octane level can have up to the 9%.
If it is labeled as "ethanol free" I don't think legally it can contain any ethanol.
