Does anyone have insure their boat with Erie? Maybe its just my agent but it doesn't seem as if Erie is all that qualified to insure bigger boats that are kept in the water. I see nothing included in my quote and my agent knows nothing of salvage coverage, fuel spill coverage and suggested a ridiculously low liability of 100k. I was also told that Erie does not do agreed value. I do not know if it is my agent or Erie that seems out of their league here. Any advice on Erie would be greatly appreciated!!
I got some quotes from BoatUS, NBOA, United Marine Underwriters and Progressive as well. They were all averaging around 1300-1400 for my 2005 320DA which seems high to me considering some other premiums for bigger newer boats that I have seen searching this site. UMU was the best price at $850 and included all of the necessary coverage. So, Im not sure if everyone else is ridiculously high or what the deal is.
