Twin 350's with 500 hours on 300 Dancer. Fresh water 2nd owner boat. What's considered average hours for an 03'? And, with 500 hours already logged, what maintenance should have already been performed or needs to be completed?

Boat is in good condition, although fridges are filthy along with some other minor things. Dealer asking $68,900.

355 hours on the engines, almost 600 on the generator.

Should have had the drive alignment checked, perhaps new bellows and raw water pump impeller along with other "normal" maintenance items per Mercruiser manual.

Fridges tend to mold when they don't have power. Wouldn't worry much about that. 500 hours isn't too bad on a 03, as long as the boat has been maintained.

send oil samples to blackstone - that will give you a very good indication of the motors condition (assuming the oil has some time on it)

The price seems a little high for an '03 - I would sell my '05 for that - does the boat have a gen?

50-75 hours per year, 400-600... Water pumps, do a compress test, chage all the fluids, plugs, not much more...

As far as what should have been done……all routing maintenance as found in the owners manual.

If you are looking to purchase this boat negotiate a price and make your offer to the boat passing a marine survey then a mechanical survey.

Once you agree to the price, have the surveyor review the maintenance records if available.

I agree that a mechanical survey should include a compression test as well as other things. If the boat has sterndrives this mechanical survey should include having them pulled for coupling inspection.
