I recently purchased a 2007 240 Sundancer. When I plug into 110 outlet (dry storage) my meter will read 120 but as soon as I turn on the shore power switch the breaker trips. No other switches are turned on. I don’t have this problem when plugged into 30amp power when dock in a wet slip. Anyone experienced this same issue? Please help!

Yes trips at dry storage

Is this outlet GFI equipped or your tripping a standard circuit 15 Amp breaker?

I’m not positive but I believe it’s a 20amp GFI

The battery breaker isn’t on

So there are a couple of questions:

1. When in dry dock, you are connecting only one 30A line or two?
2. Have you checked for reverse polarity on the dry dock outlet?

On my boat I have two 30A lines via a splitter down to a single 30A shore line connector with a marine converter to a 110v plug for this purpose. Is this what you are doing?

The shore power or your wiring to your boats inlet is most likely wired wrong, possible reverse polarity. The neutral line (white) and the ground (green) might be revered some how.

You can get a 110v plug in line checker at any hardware store. I would pick one of those up and start checking the line being supplied to the boat. Also, your main breaker on the boat looks like it could be a GFI breaker. If that is the case and the land outlet is a GFI, that is your problem. You can't have two GFI outlets in a supply loop. There is no real ground for the 2nd GFI to monitor so it will pop.
