Edgewater, MD to Alexandria Bay, NY

I am looking at purchasing a 1987 46' SR EC in MD and would like to get some information re: trailoring vs driving her back. What water route would I take, etc.??

We took my father-in-laws 2003 420AC from James Creek in DC to NYC last year. We took the Potomac down to the Bay then up to the C & D canal, over to the Delaware bay then out into the ocean. Made stops at Annapolis, and Cape May along the way for sleeping. Did the trip in under 3 days, doing 2 10 hour days and then 1 6-8 hour day.

Going by sea would be my choice, but do a thorough shake down before you start out. Depending on your level of experience, it might be a good idea to have a licensed captain with you...when do we leave?

Is the 46' in Shelby Bay? I think its parked a few slips away from my 560 Sedan Bridge I brought back from New York to Edgewater this Feburary!
