I was told that by boat one can get to OCMD from the Eastern Shore without going around the DelMarVa peninsula.
Is this accurate?

Well you could probablly get up to Seaford Delaware on the Nanticoke River but I have no idea how you're going to get over to OC by boat. I'll have to look at some charts. I've never heard this one before.

Via the C & D is the way I would take however during dock talk on of the locals said one could get there from the eastern shore. Im very doubtful .
Scorpio let me know if you find anything. Thanks

Lived in OC and now on Bohemia Bay. Made the trip through the C&D and back. Watch the water and weather conditions in Delaware Bay prior to going.

Up-and-over (C&D) and down-and-around (mouth of Bay) are the only ways to get to OC from the Bay... unless you have a helicopter!

I would consider the C&D and down the DE Bay to be going around the Delmarva, (and the only way I can see to do what he's talking about). Now if he wants to run up the Nanticoke River and rent a car in Seaford and drive to OC, thats a possibility (not a good one). There is no direct water connection from OC to the Nanticoke, sorry.

Thank guys. I thought the local was full of it, but you never know, so I kept my mouth shut.

So up the canal, south on the hellaware bay to OC. sounds about a 4 hr trip +/-

Your friend was right, but you need a trailer... A trailer would be the least expensive way to make the trip...

you need a trailer.

Or Caterpillar power...

You're just sore b/c I didn't say Cummins Power.

All kidding aside, I plotted the C&D course and was shocked to find that OCMD is nineteen miles closer than ACNJ. Are there any decent facilities at OCMD? (i.e. marinas that have adequate depth, that will take [and honor] transient reservations). Is it worth visiting?

Love oc on the boat. Check out the white marlin marina, first marina on the starboard when you enter the harbor. Would take this trip over AC any day.

Check out Sunset Marina in West OC, almost straight across from the inlet. No bridges to contend with.

Ocean City MD has a few kiddie parks!
