Earthquake?

Believe it or not, we got a bump here in Louisville KY where I'm on business this week.

I know everyone in DC freaked the f out. I was in MD at arundle mills and the 5 story parking garage near me was swaying and making a god aweful crackling noise. The water in the 15 foot diameter fountain started to sway back and fourth until it was slopping over the sides. Then I noticed the feeling in the ground. I was standing on a brick drive and it felt like it was rippling for 30 seconds. Everyone started to run outside at full tilt screaming and confused. I knew it was an earthquake but nobody believed it at first. I had to get home near Dulles Airport so I finished my job and started home. I saw a couple collisions on the BW parkway but I didn't have traffic problems until I hit the Wilson Bridge. Seems everybody decided to go home at the same time because it then took me 2 hours to go a distance which usually takes 40 minutes that time of day. People were out of control driving on shoulders in medians wherever. I got thru it though. I was wondering how many people were on the water when it occured. It was so nice today I imagine someone can tell us how much or if they felt the earthquake on the water. And how the water reacted to the earthquake.

The epicenter of the quake has been pin-pointed to a graveyard outside of DC, where all of our Founding Fathers just rolled over in their graves....

I was in Germantown, MD sitting in my car. I had the engine running with the AC on. For the first 10 seconds, I thought I had thrown a rod because the car was shaking so badly. When the car started bouncing straight up and down, I realized it was an earthquake...

And we have our winner !!!!!!

The news reported the Washington monument was leaning to far to the left, it has now swung to the right the way the founding fathers wanted it to be.

I have some big honkin' cracks on my second floor....

I bet if w!ngless built my house, it would not have moved an inch today.

You guys are sooooo funny with the little roller getting everyone's panties in a wad! Wait until the 7's and 8's start happening there! That's why it costs so much to build here now, we can withstand substantial quakes with minor damage. It's really a fun ride if you sit back and take time to enjoy them...

Let's never forget the 2011 earthquake! Donations are being taken.....

I know how you feel..... We have had 28 earthquakes above 5.0 since sept 2010 and a total of 2,634 aftershocks. Trust me.... you never get used to them!

Huntingdon County Pa, we had a nice rocking back and forth while sitting on the couch.
The dogs didn't find it amusing, GRRRRRRR.

At any rate, no damage and it was my first.

I am too! Bldg 6001, 4th floor. Are you commuting back and forth?

I am in bldg 6010 third floor... Small world... Yes, commuting back and forth. I bought a small house in Aberdeen for during the week, and rent rooms to displaced middle aged men, like me. It is a frat house without the fun for old farts..

Awesome - Good to know. Hope to have my boat back in the water next week. You should come down to the marina at Edgewood someday after work.
