Early 80's 260DA Slant Back Canvas Measurements

good lookin out. I'll get that info and shoot it over to you. Ok its at the Come sail away condo docks. And if you pm me your email address I'll send you the link to the boat.

Never been there but looks like its not too far. Ill try to swing by tomorrow morning. Looks like its in the water at that place.

It is. He said its at the end of the docks. Thanks alot, I appreciate this. I wont be able to meet up with him until around 6-7 but the wife and I are gonna come hang out for a few prior to that so we should definitely link up

I am back from a weekend (stormy weekend) at the lake. I have the measurements for you. I will scan a drawing with measurements and post this evening.

Quick drawing, a bit primitive. Let me know if it needs clarification. Basically looks like top is roughly about 7 and a half feet by eleven feet of canvas. The dotted lines are where the top turns down on each side. Lots of angles on the sides. Let me know if you need further information. The scan did not come out the best.

Thanks Bro, that helps a lot! So this piece zips to another piece in the front? Bimini Top? Or just a piece that snaps directly to the windshield without any canvas poles elevating it?

It has a two part zipper that connects it to the cockpit top which runs from the windshield to a bow that stops just behind the captain's seat.

So it basically slants back straight down from that top to the teak transom rails, no bows or anything, but is itself is one piece.

The cockpit top has side isingglass that zippers in and snaps to the side windowshield.

If I was making one form scratch I'd add a zipper by the transome entry. Ours you basically have to instal from the outside...

Got ya.

Yeah I think what I am going to do is make one large piece of canvas that snaps to the top of the windshield, over the sides and to the bottom teak on the transom. I will put in some U shaped zippers on both sides for access and a center pole to keep it from sagging. That way it will only take me a minute to put it on, and I can gain access to the boat without taking it off.

OK, as an OSU alum, I cannot let this go uncorrected. Maurice Clarett played one year for the Buckeyes, and missed 4 games during that season. He always said he'd be "one and done" in NCAA football, and he got his wish. :smt038 I wonder if he's fumbling the soap in the shower now...:wow:

I hate to admit it, but he's from very near my hometown, and so is Mario Manningham. (sheesh)...its seems top players from our area either go to OSU or Michigan. Prescott Burrgess, Dan Herron, Doug Datish...to name a few.

Go Buckeyes!

Yup youre right one and done...and its always been that way about OSU and Michigan players. Some of our best talent has come from Ohio and vice versa for you guys. Ricky Powers, Charles Woodson, Burgess and so on..

Absolutely....well, at least we have good football to watch, eh? Another little tidbit of info about Clarett...my wife and I will always know how old he is because he was born the day we were married. Good grief...perhaps we should make Grey Goose part of our anniversary celebration(?)...his favorite drink. :smt018
Over and out...

LMFAO!!! The story about him runnin Goose in his water bottle at Broncos camp is PRICELESS!!! Thats like Michael Vick showing up to his first practice with his dog. What an idiot. Now you do know though that as soon as he gets the chance he's gonna try to get another shot...

Did you buy that Chris Craft?

Not yet. Had to go to the back of the list. Blew out another outdrive :smt021 so the boats out and i'm done boating for the year. Going to grab a SE Drive this winter and be done with it.

Gotta find a truck so I can bring the boat down here for the winter and the slant back will be one of my projects. Should be a lot easier if its close to get a bunch of work done. Ill throw up some pics when I get it done.

You blew an Alpha? How'd you do that? Bummer.

That will give me some time to take some pics for you.

lol who knows man. Started making a thud thud noise as the prop span running 3500 RPMs. I stopped the boat to see if the prop was dinged and tried to limp back to the dock at 1200 RPMs whole thing finally "gave out" and I was dead on the water. Wasn't sure if it was the engine or drive so I had the boat pulled and pulled the drive off.

My first clue that it was the drive was the crunching noise coming from inside the drive when you spun the prop by hand. Then I figured out you could spin it both ways when it was in forward gear. So whatevers wrong with it, it would be cheaper to get an SE drive with a warranty then fix this one. Oh well, guess thats what I get for buying used ****!

Pre Alpha and Gen 1 Alpha.... Thats what happens when you move the throttle forward with a heavy boat :smt089

Bummer about your drive Billy. Wernt you running a slightly modified Pre Alpha?

What's an SE? That the newest outdrive? Is is a direct bolt in?

SEI is a company that builds brand new Alpha 1 drives. 1200.00 for Gen 1. 1400.00 for Gen 2

Haha yup blew both pre alpha and a gen one this year. I do NOT slam the throttle!! I do cruise at 3500 and rarely go above that and take plenty of time getting there!! Not sure what happened this time, she was running great.

No modified version Tail, it was a straight Gen 1. Are you done with your swap??? How's she running? Top Speed, cruising speed and RPMs. Go on dish it out :) Don't you have an SEI drive laying in your garage that you want to sell me super cheap? :smt038 I though I remember you saying something about that:thumbsup: lol
