My husband and I were on our way to Kenpo this morning. Snow, rain ... minding our own business when out of the blue...WHAM!!
Some kid going WAY too fast lost control and slammed into us. We spun about 5x and landed 25' off of the road in the ravine next to a line of trees.
We went to the hospital as a precaution. All is okay, well, except the tightness in my back...but that's what relaxers are for, yes?
Please be careful out there!

The pics don't do the damage any justice...

Damn young kids...

The quarter panel is rubbing my tire and taking chunks out of it

Glad everyone is OK, that sucks for sure but it's alot better than being eaten by a salt water croc. Now that could really ruin a persons day.

That really sucks to miss the dojo, just kidding. I am glad that you are ok, cars can be fixed. The soreness can be worked out doing your kata. 3rd Degree Black Belt / Instructor, Kenpo, lineage: Grand Master Ed Parker, Master Greg Silva.

Just got off of the phone with the auto body shop. Seems that the damage is more than we suspected :(
I won't get an estimate until Thursday.....

Thanks for the well wishes and tshirts lol

Is that a frequent issue on the Jersey shore

Aren't the New Jersey and New York sewers teeming with mutant crocodiles that were released from careless pet owners, only to become mutant monsters that feed in the night on non-suspecting teenagers, prostitutes and occasional heros?

I don't live in that part of Jersey so I guess I'm okay. Now, the occasional roaming pig or cow..that's a whole different matter...

Karen, Make his Insurance company buy you a new Solara!!!

Here's the bit#@ of the whole thing!!! Mine will be paid off in June!!! I owe less than $3500 on it! I was sooo looking forward to $415 more a month in our pockets!
I've already started covering my a$$. Went to the hospital, chiropractor and called my lawyer. I'll be damned if any money leaves my hands for this! One day at a time with plenty of deep breaths!

I love my Solara :smt089
Nothing like heated seats when it's 11 degrees outside.

Dang, sorry to hear of your misfortunate event, but glad you are all okay. It could have been worse, you could have been driving a Volt, and been electrocuted then burned up......

I have to admit I am laughing right now, and equally concerned about our collective privacy. Earlier, as in a week ago, I was looking at a tee shirt, and below, there it was in the ad section of this site. Obviously everywhere we journey on the internet is being tracked and cataloged (not by CSR, but probably I.E.). It's really quiet disturbing when you think about it...

Here's the tee shirt...

Well, it could have been worse....just image what would happen with an honest typo.

Sorry about the accident Karen. At least it was the car that suffered most.

Scott, delete your browsing history and cookies each day before you log off your computer. I get tired of internet advertisers thinking I'm one dimensional, or providing advertising based on my wife's recent surfing.

About $3000-$3500. My son's car was parked and got hit in the same area, Mike.

BTW....glad you are ok! I got taken out while riding my motorcycle 25 years ago and walked away. Tuff guy then but feeling the pain at 51 now. Your health is priceless and you have to protect your future. Document everything, Mike.

Thanks Mike
I have a file folder with all of the pertinent information I'm gathering. My husband has been fighting me going to the hospital and chiropractor because he "feels fine".
Feeling fine or not, he needs to be thoroughly checked out!

Oh yeah... heated seats in the solara... sorry Karen... I do hope you come out ok in the end...
