This is a pic of the outdrive on my 1976 SRV240 with a Mercruiser 233 and pre-alpha R outdrive. As far as I know, everything's original to the boat.
When I press the "in" button on the 3-button trim control, this is as far as the outdrive will lower. When I press "up" there's a click, but the outdrive doesn't move. When I press "up" and "out" together, the outdrive raises to the trailer position.
My understanding is the bottom 2 buttons on the 3-button trim control are supposed to allow trim adjustment of the outdrive within a safe range for the gimbal, with the third button being needed to raise the outdrive all the way up for trailering.
The boat won't plane. I think part of the problem is prop - a (16 x 13) was on it when I got it, but it also looks to me like the drive isn't lowering all the way.
Am I missing something. with the trim control? Does this look wrong to anyone else?
Thanks for any help.
