Dock Neighbor - Doesn't like to Follow the Rules

What's really a hoot is many of the heaters on the sailboats are diesel fuel powered... And a lot of boats have propane systems in them for the stove... Especially the nicer sailboats and motoryachts... Are they allowed to use their stoves at the marina?

Seems like I have seen lots of boats that have open flame in the cabin area for their stove tops. Our '03 280 had a factor installed Kenyon butane burning stove top burner. Funny thing is it never set off the carbon-monoxide detector or anything. Not to mention all the boat mounted propane heaters we all see on boats every day. hmmmm.

Does anyone else have a cleaning routine for their CO detector? I am considering trying a can of compressed air but wondering if there is routine to be followed to keep the sensor clean. Anyone else had a detector that has started acting like it needs the CO sensor cleaned.

Thanks, Steve.

Just curious. I know many local marinas prohibit alcohol consumption according to their bylaws, but I couldn't tell you the last time I cruised by and actually saw people abiding by that rule.

I guess some management companies turn a 'blind eye' to certain rules because they've never bothered to change them.

I would find a new Marina.

When I asked my current Marina about alcohol she actually laughed at me and mockingly said, "Did you just ask me if you can drink at the Dock?"

I've gotten drunk with our marina manager... on the dock... with some heavy hard core rock cranked / subs a boomin'... while we bbq'd some fatty burgers over charcoal (big flames) while revving my engine through open exhaust at night... blasting people with the air-horn when they walked by and I couldn't get enough profanities out of my mouth! We tossed our empties in the water and urinated off the dock... but not by my boat. I had some expired flares so we shot those off... at a group of Garry Oak trees in the neighboring park. They look really cool at night don't they? I decided to do something productive so I drained my oil into my bilge and pumped it out (didn't have a container). The water was a bit oily looking so I diluted it by emptying my holding tank... pretty smart thinkin'! My 7 year old thought it was funny so he peed on the neighbors dock lines... cute little dude... a chip off the ol' block! My dog relieved himself of a mile-high turd stack on the main dock but we weren't up that far so I left it... a little while later it looked like someone had tried to kick a field goal with it. Cool :)
The bad news was that in the morning, someone had left a note complaining... jerks.
The good news is the complainers left and now there's some moorage near me... any takers?

Oops... good thing there is the dilution factor.

I meant to say that I sure hope that I stay upstream of BC...
