Dock Boxes

Hmmm, I see a market here to put my woodworking skill to good use. :smt001 Heck, even if you don't have much skill, a 2x4/plywood box, painted white, with some hinges and a lock would be a fraction of the price!

I'm thinking something along the lines of these flower boxes I made a couple of years ago...

I had kicked that idea around. It gets pretty heavy at that point, which is not necessarily a bad thing - can get some pretty good blows during those wicked summer t-storms. The nice thing is you can get fancy with gas struts in to keep the top open. Maybe when I get bored next winter...

I made one with $65 worth of treated lumber. It's about 16 years old and still looks good. It's also not going anywhere as you can see in my sig pic.
