It was my absolute pleasure to have a short but meaningful visit with Dr. Ron Lumanchi in Brick NJ this past weekend. Do not have a boating story to go along with my thread other than we were standing next to a gorgeous L650 on the t-head.

Thanks for taking the time to come see me Ron, it meant a lot!

Where's the pictures? Just don't post any pics of his feet!

Whoops. Just seeing this thread.
A few weeks back Rusty had mentioned to me that he was delivering a boat to the MM store in Brick, NJ, which is a couple of miles up Route 70 from my marina, and on my way home . So last Friday I was sitting on the boat, done with my chores, feet up, soaking in the sun, and bored. So I texted the Cap'n to see if I had my weekends right. Sure enough, I did. So I drove over there to say hi. I found this beauty immediately - can't miss it - majestically poised on the T-head and in plain view from the parking lot - but I didn't spot Rusty. What I saw was a whole lot of activity on this boat. MM guys running all over it like a kicked over ant hill. Not seeing Rusty and not wanting to make a nuisance of myself, I turned to head back to my car. And who was standing there? a sea-weary Cap'n Rusty.

So he leads me down to the T-head, introducing me to everyone we came across - MM service manager, MM sales manager, sales guys, people along the dock, wives, state troopers, seagulls. I got introduced to them all. I also got the pleasure of meeting the owner of this brand spankin' new L650 - a gentleman named Tim. Real nice guy, who immediately started extolling the virtues of the 610DA he gave back on trade (hold on, let me get my checkbook).

Anyway, Rusty poured me an adult beverage from the celebratory open bar that was set up on the dock and then we walked the docks at MM looking for a friend of a friend of mine (who turned out to be away for the weekend). Along the way we stopped and chatted with a bunch of other people, helped one 380DA owner tie up and BS'd about boats and various other stuff.

Great way to spend what was going to be an otherwise boring Friday afternoon. Hangin' with Rusty is like walking around Nobu with Johnny Depp - chicks dig him, and he knows everyone. It was real nice to see ya Rusty - be sure to let me know next time you cross the Mason-Dixon Line.

Like the man says, why go to the nightclub when you are docking a boat like that! "Just put on some Aqua Velva and sit back & wait". Is that your boat? Why, of course...

Ron, What a great post. Thank you for taking the time to take pictures of that beauty and post them. Thanks again, JC

I really like the container with the pink dipladenia plant which forms to the rail. I can sell those and haven't seen them before.

The yacht isn't tough to look at either, thanks very much for the pictures.

Ron,

Great photos of the new 65DA? When I showed my wife the pics, she immediately thought it was YOUR boat and remarked that your practice must be doing really, really well.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, uh. No. Not at a pricetag of $4mill. I'll wait 20 years an pick one up for about $300K.

I believe the designation is L650 (L for Luxury).

Don't let Dr. Ron fool you, his 380DA is just his weekend boat.

Would that be the only one in the northeast as of yet? Man I love the new boats!! Hey Capt. How are ya?

Dam it! I knew I should have never sold my boat. I would still be Tim's neighbor if I didn't. (And I could have met Rusty) I knew he would be the next to get one....;)

I love my sneaker, it is perfect for me and my family now. But like all boaters, I always have my eye on the "next one".

I don't know about that particular 610DA, but I do know the 610 was by far the leader of the pack....until the 650 came along. Is was as far ahead of the boats under it in the line as the 650 is ahead the 610.

Beautiful boat. I guess with a draft of over 5Ft, we won't see that boat coming through the Point Pleasant canal heading for F-Cove  . Heck, I think he might get close to touching bottom under the Rt 70 Bridge right there on the river. Boating in NJ gets very limited with a draft that deep. Kind of a bummer.
