Yup, it happened in Houston and this Darwin award winner was reported in USA Today. Here’s a link to the story: http://www.freep.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/09/01/teen-instagram-selfie-gun-dead/71551216/

It seems this guy got confused. He wanted to take a selfie of himself holding a gun. But he got mixed up over which thing he was supposed to press/pull and ended up shooting himself in the head.

DING! DING! DING! Houston, we have a winner!

Lets see. Teenager, fun loving, leaves 2 daughters. Yea I'd say he was fun loving.

I have not seen the news ask why a 19 year old had a handgun. I wonder who provided the gun to him because he couldn't buy it legally.

Bet he missed the first question on the NRA readiness test: You Should Always Point the Barrel at your head? True or False:smt021

The article I read said he and a buddy found the gun. Maybe this is a good example of the need for all children to get proper firearms training.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for idiots like that either. I mean, c'mon. You want to be a big shot and take a selfie with a gun and flashing gang signs.

Well, here's his sign:
