Hello,
I recently bought my 330 Sundancer and wanted to try to reduce the noise and vibration so I checked the prop shaft alignment and found it off. I was able to raise the engine mounts and get the vertical alignment dead on but have a .008" gap on the starboard side of the coupler consistently, even when I rotate the shaft. I have tried adjusting the Hurth V drive mounts up to 1" both left and right but the .008" gap never changed but sometimes the shaft would bind. Does anyone have any recommendations ?

First center the shaft in the shaft log
Adjust front and rear mounts as close as possable. A poor man`s measuring device is to put 4 pennies between the flange and coupler. Snug the bolts just enough to retain the pennies,
Rotate the shaft, if a penny falls away, shaft alignment is still off.
By feeler gauge that I believe is .003 per inch of flange diameter . measure between the bolts.
To adjust left or right , loosen the pinch bolts in the motor mounts not the adjusting nuts.

Bt Doctur,
Thanks for the reply,
When I was attempting this alignment, I loosened all four bolts in the coupler and adjusted the engine mounts until I had equal space at 12 & 6 o'clock but touching at the 3 o'clock and a .008" gap at the 9 o'clock position. Next I loosened the pinch bolts and slid the engine 1" to the left, measuring the gap and rotating the shaft every 1/8" with no change in the .008" gap. I then repeated this same procedure until I had moved the engine 1" to the right past the original position with no change in my .008" gap at the 9:00 o'clock position. When the engine was over 1" in each direction the shaft was in a bind. Any ideas what I am doing wrong ?

If u are moving the entire engine left/right u will pinch the coupler but not greatly changing the spacing between flange sides. You need to move the mounts so the engine rotates in the bay

Since there are only four mounting points and the two on the engine only have vertical adjustment, how else can I accomplish rotation ?
