It's been a really rough winter for us and praying for something to open up (my husband lost his job, and ue isn't covering our bills...) But, I have faith that things will work out for us. Worst case scenario....we lose the house and move south...sounds like a win/win to me LOL

Thank you! There isn't a lot of work in his area right now.... especially since it's winter! Hopefully we can find out who won some of these government bids and he can have another few years worth of work!
Karen, what's he looking for? Maybe the SeaRay family can help. VA is taking a hit from the budget cuts, as long as he's not a shipwright...maybe

He is a land surveyor. But, not the kind that lays out developments, he worked on the Garden State Parkway and the NJ Turnpike. He is the guy that checks the surveyors work to make sure there are no mistakes (you don't want mistakes when you're building bridges! LOL)

Hi Karen! Welcome back. Has he considered working for a power company? There maybe jobs (he may have to travel) with the various power companies as they are required to survey on all right-of-ways. Duke Energy, Progress etc.
Another option, here soon is the feds. Look at https://www.usajobs.gov/ Although I looked and there isn't much there.
