Karen, The work you describe is very much like what is done by railway surveyors, construction location markers, grade marking etc.

Both CSX (hdqtrs Jacksonville) and NOrfolk Southern (nscorp.com) have big construction projects going in your part of the country.

We have a side business that helps a bit (he's a sign man, we just ran off vinyl for 5 SeaTow boats).
If anyone needs lettering for their boats, we can help! We do everything and can even work with design through Emails!

Karen, is he willing to repaint some lettering on a boat? Neighbor wants his redone.
 
He had his painted on many years ago and it needs to be redone. I will send some pics this weekend.

There aren't many left in the industry that paint. Most work done nowadays is vinyl. However, if he really wants it painted, I have a painter that I may be able to send your way....depending on where you are of course. Are you near Va Beach??
