Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with Bravo III drive
On my mercruiser 5.0 MPI I removed the old fuelfilter. Next step is a small amount of 2-cycle oil.
My dealer said that was enough...enigne get smoking...then stopping the motor. Done.

But no smoke here. The motor was running just perfect.

O.k. maybe to little oil. Removed the fuelfilter. Removed fuel from filter and filled it up with alot (3/4) of oil.
Starting engine...running 30 sec. No smoke. I stopped the engine.

What now? Let it be....the engine is good enough, or do it again with 1/1 filled fuel filter?

Thanks guys.

You're on the right track. You just need to run it a little longer to make sure it gets all the way through the system. You might want to consider adding a bit of stabilizer to the mix also?

I don't fog my MPIs, just use stabolizer. Anything you do is better than nothing... Make sure if you winterizing the engine yourself, and you have RWC that you run it long engough to allow the thermostat to open, or remove the thermostat...
