They gave me the keys today. Temp was 74, winds steady from the north at 25 with gusts up to 30. Seas in the harbor were snotty. Did not venture out into the bay, but did hit a few swells. I was truly impressed at the ride. It was flat and steady. Looking over the side, I could not believe how comfortable it rode given the chop and white caps. Some spray did come over the bow, but the boat was solid as a rock. The twin 5.0 BIIIs jumped onto plane like a scalded cat and sounded board at 3000 RPM. MPG at best hit 1.6. I did not check GPH. I am disappointed that there was no fuel holiday at less than 1000 RPM. In fact, I couldn't get any better than 0.6 mpg when off plane. You can almost see that guage creeping to E.
At the dock, I was fighting with a flood tide assisted by the wind and losing. Thank goodness for those fat bumpers. No scratches in the gel coat, but I thought those things would pop under the presssure as we pressed into the windward side of the dock. Coming off the dock took a little problem solving, but with a bow spring line, port reverse and starboard forward throttle, I was able to swing the bow out and pivot off the stern bumper. A great day to practice at the dock. Could not get near the leeward side of the dock.
I am thoroughly pleased. The boat looks great the lettering came out perfect.
Remind me of how to post the pics.
