Custom swim platform

Thanks a lot guys!!! U brought up a lot of valid points and I'm either going to purchase one of Swimplatform.com or try the "do it yourself way" like 390x did, what seems to be a pretty intensive project. Need to do some more investigation about the gel coating part, I love wood work but the gel coating part of it is still a little scary to me... Any input about the gel coating, glazing etc. ?

I can tell you from my project of fixing my boats blemishes after "Sandy" that gel coating is the least of your worries. But, a near matching paint would works well too...

Here we go. Finished the platform last Friday. Worked like a charm
see pics. Don't have her in the water yet but I'm really looking forward to get her wet....

Where are your support struts?

I had mine built by Mountain Marine after looking at the swimplatforms.com one and seeing how small it was

Im very happy with it and it fits my 310 RIB great

The platform I put on my 290DA (swimplatforms.com) required no struts.

No support struts. All mounting bolts are above the water line.

This morning I sent the following to swimplatform.com customer service, I haven't heard back yet but what r u guys thinking about that?

Hi Art, one quick question. The platform was slightly warped on the side where it attached to the transom and because of that I had on each side a gap of about a 1/4" maybe a little more and I tried to close the gap with increasing the torque on the screws and closed it some but now I'm worried that i may used to much torque and I get cracks in the gel coat or maybe even worse. What is u opinion about my concerns?


I also would like to seal the platform completely of to the boat, what is u take on that?

5ft overall with 4ft useable. I like the non strut design but to get one this size it had to have struts
