CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

Say one thing about the torrential rain we are having in Mystic right now....it is helping me find the leaks in my canvas!!
 
Everyone have a safe journey to Block... Never fun traveling in the rain. You guys could stay one more day and put more $$ into our local economy...
 
We left Montauk yesterday afternoon bound for Champlins to beat the weather. The ride was bumpy but not too bad. Arrived with "Life got better", "Noah's Ark" & "My Michelle".
Had dinner at the marina restaurant last night with Larry & Melina and then went to the bar for a couple mudslides! It looks like the heavy rains missed us out here but I heard long island got over 12" last night! Ouch!!
 
I stopped getting notifications again. Most of my pic are on the big camera, so I'll need some time to organize and upload them. The weekend along with our feast at West Neck Harbor was pretty much as good as it ever gets. Everyone had a lot of fun and loved it.

The plane arrangement and coordination was great. The pilot gave me his VHF, so we had very good contact and everything was spot on. It was very nice to see our caravan cruising between Shelter Isl and Sag Harbor with plane photo-shooting us.

Due to the storm, we decided to hang extra day in Mystic. It didn't make sense for us to come just for one day. I'm glad we ruled Wed as travel day as latest reports showed 7-9'ers.

We'll see everyone tomorrow.

Quick update on the itinerary. Since we have fishing trip on Friday, we need to balance things up.

Thursday:
After the raft is settled, we'll have Water activities, BBQ and cocktails.

Friday:
Fishing trip, Dinghy poker run, followed by snack and announcing the winner. Then dinner at Ballard's.
 
Made it to Block. The ocean was angry but we're here. Don't worry Ron, we didn't hammer your future boat too badly. We had an escort half the way.. A pod if dolphins. We're on the dock next to Larry. See you guys tomorrow.

We are on the first dock on the left with the coast guard boat on it. We are almost all the way down on the left. Boat name is flipper. We are heading to town with a bunch of people around 5pm. Stop by if you get this before that or come by later tonight for a drink. I will be up late.

Looking good! We were by your boat looking for ya, were just down the dock from you. Sorry we missed ya hope to see you at the Halloween Parade.

Getting ready to start the trip home. Don't want to go, but need to go. All of us thoroughly enjoyed this trip and are already looking forward to the next one!

It's been a lot of fun reconnecting with old friends and making new friends.
 
We got home last night around 6 PM, after a 9 hour run. We had a great time on the trip, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next rendezvous.

I saw your boat when we came in. Maybe next time. It's a lot quieter here tonight.
