CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

Is anyone planing to use sternos and chafing dishes for the feast?

Harold,

Last year we had 4-5 and they were all used. I would say that it's a good idea to bring them

I may have some. If I can find them, I will bring them. I am not sure if they were thrown out when my garage was emptied after Sandy.

Couple things, Greg do you still have our name tags in your jacket? The boat is called RYME only not boat-RYME(Ross, Yulia,Maya, Eva). if you guys are going to use the eastern channel in the mystic river that was mentioned, I'd do it only at mid tide and above and stay toward the green cans. 2 boats that I know of have hit something there both were near the red cans(possibly over too far) but one was a 24' stern drive and it destroyed his drive. I go through there all the time but I don't draft much.

BTW, how many are arriving on the 8th? I was thinking of taking off on Friday too. Maybe hookup with you guys and then move to the slip on Saturday.

Ross,

I have your tags, and I updated your boat name. Thanks for the caution in Mystic. I won't be getting to West Neck until Saturday.

I'll be there Fri the latest. Ron was also planning on getting there Fri.

Greg,

I just updated first page where I moved Bob from maybies to participants.

Bob and Jerral, "Mystical" 60CPMY Viking, Norwalk CT

They'll also have additional crew, which final count and names are yet TBD. So, would be possible to have few name tags with blank names where people can just hand write them in?

No problem, I'll have some blank name tags. We're going to have some big boats in the raft!

Well guys and gals just wanted to wish everybody safe travels and hope everybody has a great time! Really wish I could have made it this year but yea just couldn't make it happen. . Somebody have a couple mudslides for me when u get to block and don't forget the floater! I got the dingy in the pickup and I'm heading to lake george till Friday to make myself feel better about not going. .. again enjoy and b safe!

Thanks Jonathan... We'll miss you (and your dance floor). Have a great time in Lake George.

We have about 5 chafing dishes with sterno's and water trays we are bringing, we will need probably only 3-4 of them so we should have an extra 1-2. If anyone wants the others your welcome to them.

We're joining the flotilla once again for the first leg anyway, our offering will be buffalo chicken sliders and a desert of some sorts. Glad to be back in see you guys on Saturday

Glad you can make it Joe! I will have another Kilkenny ready for you!

We are heading out from the Hudson to the North Shore on Friday. Spending one night in Pt Washington, then continuing on to Shelter Island Saturday morning. Anyone else going out Saturday via the North Shore? Otherwise we will see you out there.

We will be bringing seafood with rice for dinner and some brownies for dessert.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The Latest update from the GSB contingent, etched in the sand at low tide, is.....

We will be meeting Harold & Arlene inside Jones Inlet Friday mid morning
Meeting Paul & Michele outside Fire Island Inlet late morning
Passing Tugboat Joe & Martha in the Atlantic thereafter :)

Entering Shinnecock Inlet early afternoon

We will be headed directly to West Neck Harbor passing through the canal at hopefully slack tide. I was not looking forward to duplicating last years roaring rapids adventure...
Believe Paul will be meeting and staying overnight in Shinnecock with others who are leaving Thursday.
Harold will decide on the fly!

Totally stoked for the trip.

We will be coming down the Hudson midday Friday, staying in Glen Cove or Port Washington Friday night, then heading to Shelter Saturday morning.

Dale

I'm leaving 5am Friday through FI I inlet and taking pics of the gang As they pass me in the Atlantic. We're traveling straight through and will ow the horns at the guys in Shinnecock marina as we leave the lochs. we will raft in the harbor hopefully by 3 pm we're also physched

Bill/Vicky/Dale,

I am hoping to leave from my marina bright and early Saturday morning. Depending on timing and speeds, maybe we will meet up somewhere in the sound.

Joe, it's great having you back in the action!

Folks,
Here's my plan of action for the Dinghy Poker Run.

Dinghy_Poker_Run_Plan.jpg

We'll be bringing smoked baby back ribs and some desert.

We'll have longest run tomorrow, departing as soon as I can fit under the fixed bridge in Sag. I'm very excited seeing everyone.

Let's try to coordinate. We are flexible about what time we leave out of Pt Wash in the morning, so let's stay in touch.

Dale - if you end up in Pt Wash we are staying at Brewers, come by and say hello.

Fair Winds and Following seas... I hope you much sun and low humidity... Enjoy your trip... I look forward to see you pictures...

Rod. Not too late to untie the lines and set sail

Just checked the NOAA Bouy Data website. It shows waves with significant wave height of 3 feet with a wave period of 8 seconds for the bouys off East Hampton and Block Island. Sounds pretty good to me!! The bouys off of Fire Island and Jones are not reporting.

The bouy in the Sound has the following:

Station 44039
MYSOUND
Location:
41.138N 72.655W
Date: Fri, 08 Aug 2014 04:00:00 UTC
Winds: NNW (330°) at 9.7 kt gusting to 11.7 kt
Significant Wave Height: 1.3 ft
Dominant Wave Period: 2 sec
Air Temperature: 68.9 F
Dew Point: 53.4 F
Water Temperature: 71.6 F

Overall not too bad.

Safe journey everyone.
We are really excited for this trip!!

Hey Gang,

We made it to Shinnecock today. I'm here with Neil, Barbra, Pauley O & Susie and of course the kiddies as well!!
The seas were good and aside from getting cursed out over the radio from some A-hole who didn't identify himself but was trying to help us apparently, all went well! We will be departing here Saturday AM to meet up with everyone at shelter! I am looking forward to the party! I'm am excited that my boat actually ran well on this first leg!! Woo Hoo!!
I need to get used to these new davits on my boat & toting a dink along!
Alex- we will be bringing kielbossa and sauerkraut for the table along with cookies for dessert. My vacation has officially begun!
