CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

He said that the east cut is real deep and was told by the Fire Island Coast Guard that if he wanted to stay inside, use the west cut into the inlet and then run the east cut along the beach. Anyone else able to confirm this?

Harold - I called Sea Tow, and they have confirmed this. The north channel is not an option. Watch between #26 & #27 it is very narrow. stay on the south side of the channel.

Greg,

You spelled Mustang wrong. It's "Mustang", not "Mustang". Please try to be more careful.

Alex,

We will be bringing homemade turkey meatballs in a homemade sauce, along with brownies for desert.

Dale

You know, I thought at first you spelled it "Mustang" but then I looked back and saw that you spelled it "Mustang" so I changed it. I guess I should have just left it as "Mustang"

Do you want it to be in all caps like on the back of your boat?

Thanks Dale. I'll update the first page.

I thought it was "mUstang".

Greg, what chocolate would you like on your pillows?

Just last year, I've put together a quick "Flotilla Guide". I'm sure there's nothing new to most of you, so just treat it as nothing more than a friendly reminder for any seasonal boater. No disrespect to experience captains, but I'm sure that some folks will find some of the info useful.

Alex,
For the feast we will bring homemade turkey chili with fixins (sour cream, hot sauce, grated cheese, etc.) and corn bread or biscuits. We may also pick up some guacamole if the quantity of the chili comes out on the "low" side.

I may be "For Sale" if my boat isn't fixed soon!!!!!!

For the feast we will be bringing my wife's world famous Taco Salad...can't wait!

Forgive my laziness but this thread is quick long. Are you making any other stops in the GSB other than Shinnecock? Perhaps any stops at Fire Island? I would love to meet some of the CSR crew.

I have about a dozen water guns that i'll be happy to rent by the day.

The night at Shinnecock is just a stop-over on the way to Shelter Island for the start of the Flotilla. I do not believe that any of us that are going on the Flotilla are planning a stop at Fire Island before the trip. Maybe after...

Alex - Put us in to bring a Chilli, and will bake anginetti cookies for desert.

The dink will be with us, count us in for all the water games!!

I finally had time to finish our "Daily Compass". If anyone see something missing or have suggestions for other activities, please let me know.

Alex, is the photo shoot only the one day? We have the small group that are heading to Montauk after Shelter, myself included. If this is the only picture time, we'll need to plot a different course.

Paul,

Preliminary plan for photo-shooting is to do it on two occasions. One is scheduled on Aug 11th, as we leave West Neck Harbor. I suggest to form a caravan for the photos and once we're done you guys can branch off to Montauk while the Flotilla maintains its course to Mystic. Second session is scheduled for Aug 13th. I will askhaving the photo session near Block, as the Flotilla and the group from Montauk is making their approach toward Salt Pond.

As mentioned earlier, we're at the mercy of the weather Gods. If the weather isn't cooperating on a scheduled days, we'll have to move it up.This is the reason we have 3 locations (West Neck, Mystic and Block).
