CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

Ok...I don't want to miss this again...put me in the maybe list for now. Need to work on admiral and other issues for a while.

ChuckW
Alegrias 260DA (I'll feel like a dink in this crowd :( )
Chuck, Patty, Halston (11), + TBD (2 college kids)
Depart from Fall River area
Would likely slip at all ports made...no dink.
No pref on ports, will go with the flow....

Welcome Chuck! You're officially on the List of Maybies. Let me know when you're ready to be moved up.

Chuck,
Where will you be starting from? We are at Borden Light Marina.

I trailer my boat to the area, so I'll likely put in just up river from you at the boat ramp in the park.

Don't feel alone. We are with you in size and stature!

I'd shy away from Napatree as it can get pretty bumpy with boat traffic. How about the pond area of Sag Harbor? Great holding, really calm, and a great town. Montauk Yacht Club does offer club pricing as well depending on the dates.

Thanks for suggestions. I agree on the Napatree.

Sag is very nice and we could have a good raft there in calm water, big boats just need to wait for the low tide to clear the fixed bridge. There's a dinghy dock, so access to the town is not an issue. Sag is only few miles from West Neck, so it's not much of a ride. But, it's an easy jump on the way to Block.

MYC is an excellent port and for this reason we had our previous rendezvous there two years in the row. It was time to try something different, but it doesn't mean we can't go back there. Just like Sag, it could be a good candidate for port #2, as it's perfectly located on the way to Block.

We have number of ports to choose from, so while we're waiting for some info on WNH we should continue thinking what would we like as a port #2.

Here's what we have so far:

Alex,
We are excited to announce we will be able to join the " Northeast Flotilla" for the first 2 ports. We will have to split from the flotilla before Block Island due to a family wedding. We will definitely take a slip in Shelter Island, The Island Boat Yard. (LOA-45ft) Please let me know when you would like me to contact the Island Boat Yard to confirm/deposit my slip reservation.
Once again, thanks for always arranging the Flotilla for your Northeast Boating friends!

Alex,

Are you going to add MYC as a second port option? If so, please P1 me for that since that is where I am heading after Shelter Island! Haha! Thanks.

Awesome. But can't they reschedule the wedding?

I'm in on this too - planning to do sag before SI - MYC would be a great 2nd stop - P1

MYC is great... My parents spend the whole summer there... There sure is plenty to do there... I am hoping to join you guys for that part of the trip and the port before.... I'll go with the flow if we join so my vote dosent matter... Just when you make the firm dates we will decide...

That's great to hear, Marianne!

I've moved you ladies to the List of Participants and updated your preferences for ports, itinerary and docking arrangements.

Todd, as you asked, I added MYC to our list of proposed ports and also proposed itinerary. I've marked your, Paul's and Mike's vote to include MYC.

I'm waiting to hear from WNH dockmaster on the cut off date.

I've cleaned up the spreadsheet a bit by removing few ports mostly NE of Newport, since we didn't get much votes for them anyway.

Here's the updated version (please let me know if I missed anything or anyone):

Let me know when youre ready to be placed on list of maybies, or better yet, on the list of participants.

As you can see from the first page the dates have already been set. So, while we're choosing the ports and finalizing the itinerary, this doesn't affect the dates.

Speaking of the dates, just a friendly reminder for those who're not self employed. Please don't forget to submit for your time off for the dates you're planning to attend the flotilla.
