The Mid-America Boat Show will be held January 17-21, 2013 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, OH. Are any CSR Members (and friends) interested in getting together for a mid-winter rendezvous? (Note: This is not limited to those who boat on Lake Erie. It is open to any who want to make the trip - the more the merrier!)

A possible float plan could be as follows:

Saturday, January 19 - Boat Show Hours 11AM - 9PM

CSR Members Meet & Greet at the Marine Max / Sea Ray booth (1:00PM) (I am sure that they will appreciate an invasion of SR owners!)

Spend the day at the show looking at new models(boats!), accessories, and possible cruising destinations.

Early evening group dinner at a local restaurant (time and location to be determined).

If enough interest, we could reserve a block of rooms at a local hotel (preferably one with a bar) to continue the "party" for those that wish to spend the night.

Earlier this year we had a great time at Middle Bass Island. I know that there were several members who expressed interest in joining us but were unable for various reasons. This would be a great opportunity to renew friendships and make new ones.

I think a "get together" is a great idea! The Cleveland boat show is fantastic and a lot of fun. Count me in.
 
great idea Casey! I'm pretty sure you can count us in. that show has gotten small enough over the years it doesn't warrant the drive, but if it's going to be a rendezvous weekend absolutely it worth the drive! :thumbsup:
 
I will be in the area of the I-X Center this coming weekend. I will check out hotels and also inquire about discounted tickets to the show for a group. As soon as you know for sure that you will be attending let me know by posting in this thread or PM. Need to know how many in your group, if you want to join us for dinner and if you are interested in staying at a local hotel Saturday evening.

I will add confirmed attendees to Post #1.

There is a big boater party at Ed’s Commodore in Port ClintonOhio the 18[SUP]th[/SUP] and 19[SUP]th[/SUP] of January. All the sr members are invited that want to come.
Friday is a pj party at the bar with a trophy for the best pajamas captain Kurt will be playing.
Saturday afternoon is the pool party for those that want to attend.
Saturday night all inclusive food, drinks, and band.
Food is saltimbocca chicken, tilapia fish, Steam Boat Round carved, salad, vegetable medley, and desert.
Well drinks and domestic beers.
The Webster’s will be playing Saturday night. (The Webster’s are a popular band that plays at the Round House Put In Bay, Ohio in the summer.)
Food, 4 hours of drinks and band all for $65 per person.
Rooms are $54 a night plus tax.
Port Clinton is not that far from the Cleveland boat show so a lot of the people that attend the party go to the boat show Saturday AM then come back to the party on Saturday night.
Ed’s Commodore Inn is owned by the same person that owns Ed’s at Put In Bay so he knows how to take care of us boaters.

We are still interested in going. Show doesn't look as if it will be very large, but always willing to go to see what's new.

If there is interest in getting together as a group, Saturday afternoon at the show with a possible dinner afterwards would work best for us.

Let's hear what others have in mind.
 
I'm definately still intersted. is anyone else looking to spend the night in a nearby hotel? if not I can always crash with family.

Now check in is not until 3 pm but Wesley at the front desk assured me that if we want to park at the hotel and take the free shuttle to the show earlier that it will not be an issue.

I didn't think the $67 was a bad rate especially with the transportation.

Ok guys let me know who's going I've already booked my room!
 
I want to make sure that those that go to the boat party at Ed's Commodore Inn make sure you get your ID discount card at the party. There is no extra charge for the card it is part of the party. The card will get you free admission into the bars at Put In Bay 10% discount off dockage at B Dock Put In Bay,along with discounts at alot of the restaurants in Port Clinton and Marblehead, Ohio.

sweet! Thanks for setting all this up! I got my reservation booked, looking forward to the smell of fresh gelcoat, some lobster bisque, beer, and a dip in the pool! finally something in winter to look forward too!
 
For those that have been calling the main hotel Ed's Commodore Inn it is full there are rooms avaliable at the Comfort Inn in Port Clinton Ohio. The rooms there are around $45 a night. The hotel is still close to the party.

I am guessing you will be going to the show on Saturday. I have a commitment early that morning but we can be to the I-X Center hopefully by 1PM. Not sure if we will be spending the night in the area, but we would be interested in dinner/drinks after the show. It will be a good opportunity to start planning our summer get together. Looking forward to a fun day! Hope others can join us.
