CSR Lake Erie Islands 2013 Rendezvous

As long as things are still going well with the pregnancy I plan on attending.

I was just asking my wife about a Lake Erie long weekend a couple days ago. This sounds perfect.


Anyone navigating down from the Lake St.Clair area?

My plan is to leave Friday morning ~8:00am from Harsen's Island, if you like we can rendezvous somewhere along the way.

I've never been farther South than Gross Isle. It would be nice to have a companion to help me navigate Erie for the first time.

this sounds like a fun weekend, if me and admiral monster have the 240 up and running to our satisfaction we would love to join
 
Boat games ?Now i know what a i phone is for,spending my boat gas money in the winter.Unfortunatly the islands are not economically feasible for a weekend trip these days,wish it was ive only been to put in bay once for fuel,and on a saturday morning it was a pita to even get to the gas dock .The service sucked too.Although from the stories ive heard i can understand why no one moves very fast in the mornings around there.Lol

That weekend is ISLAND FEST on Kelley's; always a great time. Seaway has pavillions it will let groups use and there's no "adult beverage" policing. Only drawback is there are rarely any floating docks, just wall space. There is also Port Side Marina with all floating docks and a short walk to several eateries that would hold large numbers at reasonable prices including one at the end of your dock. Also, there is West Bay Inn that has day docks leading to the restaurant/bar so long as you stop and have a couple of drinks.

Would love to attend but have to check on schedule. How about coming a bit east for next year? It's a long haul for us eastern folks!

There are plenty of places around Lake St.Clair.


Metro Beach has some pretty nice docks and their facilities are steady improving. Certainly a family oriented atmosphere.



There are tons of boat clubs around that could accommodate a group of boaters as well. Belvedere Boat Club, Idle Hour Yacht Club, Algonac Harbor Club just off the top of my head.


If you wanted to go farther east, Lexington is supposed to be nice.
 
He meens east of sandusky,on lake erie.Ive heard and been invited to commander perrys yacht club in erie pa. by another boater that we were socked in with by 12 fters about 10 yrs ago.Sounded like a really nice place.But i was heading home from a monroe mi. to ny cruise vacation at the time and couldnt afford the time. http://www.commodoreperryyachtclub.com/

So is this outing still being held at Middle Bass or did I read that it is moving to Kelleys? For what it's worth, I vote for Kelleys... Not much to do on Middle Bass.
 
Jason, you can count us in for both nights. Kelleys Island would be nice but an early committment/reservation would be wise. It looks like Portside and Seaway will require a 2 night stay for Islandfest.
 
Looked up the dates that is the Kelly Island days weekend. To much going on at Kelly's that weekend with the parade, fireworks,street fair, and street dance.
The parade is one of te biggest kid friendly parades. Sorry was thinking about coming but I can't give up Kelly Island Days. And they are way less strict about drinking on the docks.

Sorry been away for a few days, (this career thing is for the birds), anyway, Yes, I do still plan on trying to book middle bass as of now. I actually can call Monday!!! can't believe its this time all ready. If I am unable to get us all on one dock then I would like to change venues. Since it is also Kelly Island Days I am going to say us getting into Port Side will be next to impossible. Sea way will probably be the same. Lets just wait till next tuesday and I will see what I can work out for Middle Bass.

Glad to hear you're planning on attending and I can't wait to see both of you again,

PS: of course we would love to have "Checker out" with us too!

I am open to all ideas but lets try to stick with the plan as of now and I will know more next week!
