We need a new poll.

What are your # of nights you'll spend cruising sequentially (in a single trip) away from your home port in 2009?

As long as gas prices hold out like they are and I can manage to sell just 1/4 as many houses as I did in the 1st qtr of this year, I'll be gone a whole lot. The one nice thing about having no work to do is all the free time to go boating. Maybe a 3 week trip into the chesapeake will be in order for next year :smt038 SB

If we can duplicate late year...every weekend from end of May till Halloween, and a week vacation in the middle.:smt038

Aaahhh come on Wesley, new baby would love to spend the night on the boat. Get full canvas with bow enclosure and you are set.:smt043

We take a two week cruise every year. This year we're debating Long Island to:
1). Montauk, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Newport and Shelter Island or,
2.) Manhattan, Atlantic City, Cape May, C&D Canal, Annapolis and back.

Any thoughts or guidance would be much appreciated (The first one we've done most of).

My goal is to make it to Block Island and then on to Nantucket, mystic and back home. Summer is my busy time so it's hard to get more than a week off at a time.

Normally 4 - 5 X 3 or 4-day cruises. If we see $2 - $2.50 on the water, I may try to take the boat Southeast for a couple of weeks.

I'm in for 15 +
We spent about 30 nights or so aboard this year. I think we may try for at least one or two more nights before years end, but we'll see.

Wesley, it's a ways off but you should really consider some early boating (slow) for your new princess and the Admiral as soon as she arrives. You'll thank me later, as its a great place she can nap beneath the bowrider tounneau cover in the shade, while you and the Mrs. enjoy what may otherwise be your only break on a weekend.

By the way, buy your wife a "Body Pillow" for Christmas.

We plan on doing a 4 to 8 week cruise this summer. We will start in Vancouver and heading north up to desolation sound, stopping at all the marine parks along the way. We’ll stop in Comox at the end of July for my 30th high school reunion and then head south to the gulf islands if we do the full 8 weeks.
The length of the trip will depend on my employment situation. My current job is being transferred to China and I will be laid off sometime between now and the end of June. How soon I find another job will determine the length of our trip.

We need a new options. Number of nights away with the boat, but don't sleep on the boat. I only get to sleep on the boat when it is a guy camping trip.

We usually spend 2-3 weekends a month on board and sometimes more. The weather here has cooled off some but we spent last weekend on the boat.

We didn't do our SF Bay cruise last year and stayed pretty close to home port because of the gas prices but we have already commited to cruise this next year no matter what.

The SF Bay cruise is on for next summer as well as a lot weekend destinations.

My wife is a school teacher so we have the summer to take advantage of the weather. Last year we brought our boat up from Key Largo to Flagler Beach. That was a nice trip. This year we are going to take a number of short trips - Jacksonville, Amelia Island, etc. We may take a run to Bimini in July. We are looking forward to the Christmas lights in St. Augustine in a couple of weeks - we will spend the night at the City Marina and tour downtown, the lighthouse, etc. Living on the Intracoastal makes it easy to drop the boat in and head North or South for a quick get away.

We make a 5 to 6 weeks cruise every summer.
We also go to France, Belgium or the UK, so we need this time to travel.
In 2009 we have the plan to go to the northern islands.
First we go to the Dutch islands.
The Wadden Islands are located north of Noord-Holland.

The Island group consists of Texel, which is the largest island, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. They are known for their unspoiled nature reserves, wildlife, beautiful beaches and charming villages.

Than we go further to the german islands.

Anybody ever leave Dutch Harbor after Halloween and head north for a few months? Looks like fun. Saw something on Discovery...

Let's see congress is going to legislate wages. How many trillion is the U.S. in the red? Who gave the bankers 750 billion with any strings attached? Here is an idea let the big three go out of business and all the workers without jobs can move to Alabama. Enough said.
