1988 Sunrunner w/trailer 350 V-8 Volvo Penta outdrive. 24ft Boat is in Excellent condition but NEEDS ENGINE ( Cracked Block) still runs

I can get this boat for under $800 bucks then buying a long block for $1.550 + $150 shipping & no core charge from Rapido Marine.

My brother will put it in for $200 so that's a total of $2.500 +/- some $$ then I'd sell it in the spring.

So the big question is would you do it ??.

Would give you some thing to do this winter. If you did not make any money from it in the spring you could look back at all the fun you had. I have a friend that used to fix up old boats and sell them. He did well until 2009 then he said there was no money in it. He was a farmer who had large barn that allowed him to work on the boats out of the weather. You probably will need a shed to work on the boat as there will probably be many small things to fix. Looks like a nice boat to keep after fixing it up for some one.

But what about all the little things? More $$

As in what ??. Its a fresh water boat and they sell like hotcakes up here in the spring.

I'm thinking that I can get between $5.500 to $6.500 for it this spring.

Its just a thought at this time that's why I'm asking. :smt001.

Dumb question....if you're so certain you can sell it in the spring and make money on it, why are you on here asking us if we think you can make money on it?

Just sayin.....

The last one that I show sold was for $6500 and looked to be pretty nice. I would say your margins are slim, I would realistically say 5k-5,500

Sounds like a fun project. Even if you only made a grand, that would pay for all of the beers you drank fixing her up. Go for it!

What a nitpicker you are :smt021. So what you're saying is .. I can't ask questions on here.

Read? I used to have a friend named Read. Oh, wait, he was Reed. My misteak! I tryd to lernt how ta reed one tyme but al dem ladders lookd da sayme, so I kwit. Wuz the wurst 20 minits of my whooooooole lyfe.

Actually, upon reflecting back on my comments I posted, I probably did that before my first cup of Joe. If I were to have the chance to do that again I probably would have done it much differently.

I'd have been more of a butthole. Kind of like asking someone why they didn't take some action to save a sinking boat. Some times what we say in jest or before we engage our brain, things don't come out the way we intended.

Damn, and I thought I was perfect!
