Just an update. I put CopperCoat anti foul on my boat just over 1 year ago. And right now it is becoming boating weather again :) with temperatures dropping to acceptable levels.

So here is the year 1 verdict : CopperCoat 1 : Sterndrive Paint 0

Sterndrives had normal spaycoat antifouling on them.

Top speed down by 7 knots - from 40 to 33 knots.

Inspection of CopperCoat - just a layer of thin algae that I can remove with a cloth
Inspection of Sterndrive - heavy fouling with all kinds of marine life including a LOT of barnacles.

Pictures:

First picture - the algae growth/layer on hull - one easy swipe and it is gone (picture is where my "**#@#@# mechanics damaged the paint when hauling it onto the trailer - but no barnacles on that spot either)

Stern drive... 3 hours of work to get them clean.

Boat has been idle the last 5 weeks due to travel and 45-50 (c) which is 113-122f - with water temperatures up to 35c (95f)

I have only got one thing to say about that weather ........ Ouch

I am impressed with the prop speed on my props
