In the below 30ftr size of boat, how often do you use the stove cook top in the galley? Do some just use a BBQ attached to the rear transom rail or is a microwave used more?

I’m looking at interior ideas since I have to do some work in the cabin anyway. I know, I could potentially be opening a can of worms but it just seems like space is wasted with how the setup is configured.

well I don't think we're the norm, but we use our stove about every 5th or so meal. mostly for sides, everything from sides of rice to pasta, rarely do we saute with it mostly because I'm afraid of the mess the splatter would make. that said I'd rather it was a single burner since I can't think of a time we'd ever have both going. for most our meals we split time between the toaster oven and the grill. I used to question my wife wanting the toaster oven but she uses it all the time, everything from cookies to appetizers, to pizzas, all the way to stuffed chicken breasts.....darn it now I'm hungry:lol:

Ours is mainly used for breakfast, making coffee and warm side-dishes. We do regular weekend overnights roughing it "on the hook" and even when over-nighting at marinas we often use it. Grilling isn't much fun if you get stuck in the rain while staying on the boat too.

Never , dont want to cook down there, gas grill on the back . but i would never take it out , but like you i have thought about the space it takes up

Never used it, but I'd like to someday. Been too damn hot this summer to even think about adding MORE heat down there. We grill at the dock. When it actually rains (very rare these days), we go to town for food.

I won't take mine out because it is just a counter top right now anyways. On a cold spring or fall day, I'll have to warm up a nice pot of soup for fun.

We use ours breakfast also. Maybe some beans and corn while I am using the grill. I agree that it is a waste of space and would be better off as a single burner, But after all these years it still works with both alcohol and electricity. I wouldn't take mine out either.

Changed ours for a gas one (canister type), very fast and efficient use it a fair bit for quick meals.

We used ours once for breakfast in 3 1/2 seasons and we used the microwave twice. We always used the grill for cooking.

Microwave or grille as well on the water. Usually a restaurant if tied up. I use it more to stress the gennie than anything else!! I'd rather have the counter space. I like the idea of a gas canister model expecially if I could recess it and have a cutting board type of cover built for the opening.

Do you have any pix Kiwi?

We use ours for breakfasts and side dishes. We have the butane version so we can use it any time. I tend to use it a lot in the spring/fall when I am getting the boat out of, or into, winter storage for making coffee and heating up soup.

We use the cooktop, bbq, and microwave regularly...

Never used it once. Toaster oven or Magma grill cooks everything we eat.

Never touched it. No idea if it works.

We use the cooktop and the microwave. We like to go down to the boat for dinner, and have breakfast when we sleep over. They come in handy for heating things up. We don't make huge meals with them, but they do help.
Years ago I had a boat without built in stove and I got a 2 burner portable that I kept on the counter, The stove got a lot of use for breakfast on the boat.

mine was alcohol...probably works
but I use the grille and last week took the stove out to produce some extra storage

We used ours a couple of times when we first bought the boat, but I believe it throws off too much heat for a small boat like ours. We keep an electric skillet on the boat & use it both in the galley or up on the dock while slipped. With the domed lid, you might be supprised how versatile they are.
