Let me put this out there for your thoughts/ideas on this. I have a 2000 340 Sundancer.... It's been a great boat. I like the size/layout and even though I am getting older, I can still handle a boat this size.
However, the boat is 21 years old and while it is in REALLY great shape, "things" are happening, breaking, aging, are in need/repair, it's has older technology, etc etc etc, etc, etc..... So, I am considering upgrading to a newer, used boat.

I really like the SeaRay Sundancer model. (Although I wonder if a Sedan Bridge may be something I should consider, since I am getting older. But Anyway, that's a separate consideration....... ). I like the shape/look/configuration of the 2010-2013 350 Sundancer. The 370 is beautiful but probably out of my price range. The 330 Sundancer looks cramped in size compared to my 340 Sundancer.

In my opinion/observation, in some of these newer boats, it almost appears that SeaRay tries to jam pack so many features/accommodations/amenities into these boats that they leave less room for the occupants.

So, my question"s" are:
o Is there "anything" about/in these model types and year ranges that I should look for?
o Is there Any features and/or years that I should stay away from?
o Is any particular model more reliable than others?
o I'm curious to know "any" of your thoughts/recommendations/ideas/suggestions......

Thanks All....

Part of the issue with newer boats is that (I believe in 2010), Sea Ray started designating their models based on LOA as opposed to Length On Deck. As such, a newer 330 will feel a lot more cramped than an older one, because....well...it is! Just something to factor in when looking at model numbers.

The 350 will probably feel smaller than the 340da and engine access is not necessarily any better.

Newer is not always better. More technology relates to more things to fix and more expense. I am not sure when they switched over (around 2010) but the new exhausts have catalytic converters and sensors (O2) to add. These parts are much more expensive when it comes time to repair.

Personally, I still like the early 2000 models and probably would look at a larger boat in that time frame. The 390DA with diesels is a nice setup (400,420/440 add to that). 360s and 380s can still be gassers but add beam and are a little better in the engine compartment.

Biggest issue is inventory. Limited availability and higher prices (taking the spread into consideration).

Thanks for your feedback Bobeast and Kevin C and Lazy Daze too

I say move up to a newer 340 like an 07 or 08. 08's have DTS and pretty much are the size of boat you're used to. Stick with a V drive boat. The 2010's and up have catalytic converters and way too many sensors! I know because I just did the same thing last year. I sold my perfectly good 2000 270 and moved up to a 2010 310 and while we love the boat it is too sensitive something is always alarming in the vessel view. The catalytic converters make the exhaust manifolds run too hot for my comfort.
