Ok. . .I have to admit it.

You made me laugh!

We will let First Born decide if this is over the edge. . . . .

Hmmm. One page view and three votes. . . .

and if you make your edit *quickly*. . .it does not show up as edited.

I voted NO!!! I usually stay out of the holding tank but looking at the author of this topic thought I better at least take a peek at it.

Amid Campaign Talk of 'Socialism,' Palin's Alaska 'Shares' Oil Wealth

Alaska's residents receive yearly dividend checks from a $30 billion state account built largely from oil royalties

How come no one in the lower 48 get any money from natural resources found in there states?

I going to apologize to Four Suns for join Club Sea Ray I thought it was for Sea Ray members to chat about boats and have some fun in the holding tank about non boating topics. But I did not think that the
Republican Party Christian Coalition of America was here to throw stones and do name calling.

First Born let me know if I am out of line, but maybe this should be in the CSR FAQ page.

So everyone vote away and at Four Suns Poll...

Vote early... vote often....

Unlike Ohio, Florida, and Chicago, the forum only allows one to vote once for each poll. Do you have an acorn program or an ohio supreme court rubber-stamp to allow multiple votes?

I think we need to get the American Criminal Liberties Union involved...

Actually, that's true. Minerals under the ground that are extracted are considered owned in commons. Therefore the companies that extract them have to pay the government that operates in the commons. In the case of Alaska, they return that money to the people because the government works for the people and operates the commons for them. Now if that was New York, New Jersey, or Michigan, for example, the government would keep the money and piss it away on stupid projects to curry favor with labor unions, the unwashed masses, and other idiots -- I mean -- special interests.

Best regards,
Frank

Maybe he can come over and clean the lint screen on my new front loader (the one I bought with my economic stimulus check).

I agree but the article states the difference between taking income tax and distributing it and taking profits from oil and distributing it!

I think we need a poll to decide if you would let a small child on the dock without a life jacket!

Do you think they are socialist pigs?

I think this poll is legal... it's in the holding tank after all...

Vote early... vote often....

Sponsored by your local Acorn office.

Socialist? Maybe? Cannot really say as I do not know them.

But what did the pigs ever do to you? :smt043

I think both Saltydogz and Cornstalk are nice guys, but just plain clueless. I think Saltydogz works for the Gov't. Both are paycheck collectors and they are waiting for all the free stuff and tax refunds, (wealth redistributions) Obama is promising. (Remember Obama says 95% of the folks are getting tax breaks) Really they are nice guys who are going to vote for someone that is going to damage this economy and country.

Yes. . I am a paycheck collector. BUT I fully expect a tax increase under Obama's plan. . .after it is revised for reality. I am definately on the "giving" side of redistribution at the moment, and expect to continue to be on the giving side. I expect nothing for free.

Once McCain's plans are adjusted for reality, I expect to pay MORE under McCain. It probably won't be as direct taxes next year, but rather as increased health care costs and more importantly inflation over the medium term.

Another interesting aspect of all this is how a discussion about legitimate economic issues and differences of opinion leads to a poll about "Socialist Pigs".

It is just not one or two members on a boating forum that descend into "name calling", but rather a common theme in our election politics.

If those who present one side of an argument resort to the "Socialist pigs" line of reasoning. . .I then begin to question the strength of their reasoning on economics.
