Computer woes

Very true and that would get my father in-law every time...but those show up as peer-to-peer or adhoc networks, yes?

No... not anymore... they "can"... but I can take a $50 crappy linksys hotspot with me and look like a real network and have a blast... or just use my android phone...

All these threats are real, but the O.P. just wanted to send a lousy email from what I assumed to be a respectable marina...

Next time I'm at BWI I'll be wary of any "4SUNS FREE WIFI" ssid...

Well then, that should make things easier.

PS: I used the word "assumed"... flames expected...

Our home port is Rockport, Ontario and we are out for a week of cruising in the Cayton, NY area. We are taking advantage of the WiFi service here at Islander Marina. We get access to the internet and we can receive our e-mail messages without any problems. The only thing is that we cannot send out any new messages. What is going on here guys? Is there some setting that needs to be changed in our e-mail setup?

OK guys, we are now back at our home port of Rockport, Ontario and our e-mail is back to normal. I never did get it to work properly at Islander Marine in Clayton, NY. I could receive, but not send out.

Now I have a new problem. Most of the buttons on one of my laptop computer's MS-Outlook tool bar are grayed out. How do I correct this problem?

It should be more than evident by now that I am not a computer geek, so try to K.I.S.S. All and any constructive help will be more than welcomed and appreciated.

~Ken
