Every since Wayne posted Rusty's loss from BOC I have been intrigued to check out some other sites. I went to what seemed like the most popular boat brand sites and noticed a few things.

First was that CSR seems to be much easier to navigate through what with it's 24 and 48 hr update icons. The overall layout of the page is much more appealing in graphics and structure.
I also like the layout of the many threads sections here.

I find the search function here to be a challenge yet it seem that you can filter down the search fairly well.

The biggest difference is that there are hardly any boats on anyone's avatar or signatures on the other sites. Lots of funny pictures and personal photos but no boats. What gives?? Are we the only ones proud enough to post our boats?
Even the site that mentions us as brand basher's have hardly any boats posted.

BTW. great job Jim for giving us a classy site and to all our adman folks for keeping it straight.

What's your opinion??

Bill....I've tried to use a photo of my 300 since I joined. I guess it's because I use my IPad I can't load a sig photo but I've never gotten it to load. I'd be happy to send you the photo if you can get it to load....pm me

Bill, Theres a lot of people that DON'T know how to post a pic or do a avatar pic or a sig pic.

Yep, and a big THANK YOU to.....

Is our site easier to use for those functions? Don't know since I never tried to upload on any other site.

Yep,
Some sites its like fighting with a bear just to post a pic. :smt021

Yea, I can never post pix here. TOO BIG, it says. I guess you have to pay for upgraded membership to use up all that server memory......

I can agree with that Frank. I'm new to boating sites and CSR is the first one I landed on. Until I started checking around I thought all the sites were about the same. Now I see the amount of boating knowledge here is extraordinary. Every time I have had an issue you and others were spot on with information. Not only me but others here can say the same.

Thank you.

I have not seen so many SNOBS be so helpful , even to non SR owners.:lol:

You can downsize your photos before uploading them. I prefer the membership as it is easy to upload, and the majority I upload through Tapatalk HD on the iPad which is a breeze. In regards to uploaded photos just a personal observation, I find the photos loaded to the site a lot easier and quicker to view than photobucket, but understand the reason for using photobucket.

I do not frequent any other sites, have looked at a few but basically landed here, appreciatted the knowledge, variety of posts etc. And yes I do find it easy to navigate etc

I use my iPad to upload all the time, it is the easiest and fastest way. Get the photo in your camera roll on your pad, open Photobucket app and upload, copy image code, paste image code, and click submit. It is just 8 or 10 clicks total.

It's been a long hard road to get where we are. I really have to weed through the feedback and implement what is really going to be helpful, not just what a few individuals want. This site really does have a wealth of knowledge, and a great mojo about it. Moving forward I would really love to get a focus on local events. The spring and summer is when these events happen but its also when I have the least amount of time to be helpful since I am in the seasonal boat biz. But I really want to keep building the Sea Ray community both online and offline.

I have spoken to many Sea Ray owners at my marina and not one has ever heard of CSR . How do these guys answer questions about their boats????? I can't remember how I found the site but damn glad I did! First I was happy to get technical advice, then I met other people in the area now I travel some distance to hang out with friends I have made here. It's more than a boating site to all of us, thanks to all involved !

With a little help today I found the problem I was having, when I downloaded Photobucket I downloaded the IPhone version... I'm working to fix my mistake now

I agree whole heartedly! This site has folks with a great depth of knowlege, not to mention that they are happy to share it with others. If the folks on this site are considered snobs, and I'm a relative newbie here, I like associating with snobs!

Testing......thanks to all who helped with this, a year now and I would have never found this problem without this thread being started

Yep the content and peeps is what keeps the site growing. Wish I had more time to spend here and cant wait to get back in the boating lifestyle if these interesting time ever end. (Grin)
Thank Jim for hosting us. And Scott for picking up the slack....

Jim,
Any thought about out organizing a mid-bay gathering somewhere to break the winter funk after the holidays? Could be as simple as picking a local restaurant or bar to gather and let folks fend for themselves food/beverage wise. Could also look at something more organized food and beverage wise too. I personally lean toward keeping it simple, but that's just my preference.
