Cockpit Upholstery Ideas - Photos Wanted

Looks good! Now you need a teak table in the back there to finish it off.

I’m not usually drawn to caramel colors but this is nicely tied and accented. The captain’s chair is VERY nice looking

Following because my original 07 upholstery is smoked

The colors are actually far lighter than the photos which were snapped in evening light.

The white is closely matched to the factory white.

I'm in the process of upgrading to a STIDD seat.

THAT cockpit chair will be available for sale - best offer from anyone who wants to pick it up as I don't want to ship.

We modified the factory helm seat with extra padding, longer arms and a taller backrest all before I went over to the DARK SIDE and chose the STIDD.

here's a few shots of the upholstery canvas.

Being in SW FL protecting the vinly from the sun is paramount.

ALL SOFTGOODS and the dash are protected, as well as the companionway door, which had a tendency to leak in heavy downpours.

Note the mesh at the icemaker locker:

Also, the factory seat fasteners were not stainless. This explains the rust stain trails.

They now ARE stainless, but that seat will be replaced with a STIDD by Feb 1.

LOVING THIS 450 !!!

That looks sharp! The only other thing I see in my quick look that needs done is to replace those yellowing latches on the cabinet doors in the cockpit.

I managed to replace the yellowing cup holders on the 450.

Have replacement latches for the lazarette door to try and new stainless port/stbd running lights to install when i get to it.

Gonna have those backrests readjusted as they lost their shape while out of the boat but they came out ok otherwise definitely decent for the price point

Looks nice! How much did that run? I have some upholstery quoted recently from my canvas guy, who is very good. But the price was absolute sticker shock. And this is coming from a guy that put a hydraulic platform on his boat... lol.

It was actually less expensive to consider brand new helm seats - even good ones - then to reupholster the two captains chairs. Clearly, I need to get some other quotes.

Ten “boat bucks”. Certainly not cheap, but the company I used does amazing work. That also included a new bow pad also. She also made that removable cushion on the starboard side which in effect adds another seat. Very happy with their work.

She did mention the helm chair took the most time. Replacing it with new wouldn’t have matched the rest of the Sunbrella, however….

Clearly I'm in the minority here, but my boat cockpit was upholstered in cloth originally. I'd never seen this before and liked it so redid it in Sunbrella cloth.

It's cool or warm no matter the weather and has the comfort of home furniture.

I occasionally do exterior boat upholstery in Sunbrella (you see it mainly on ...dare I say....Sailboats).

Our new upholstery is Sunbrella brand, but it’s not the ‘patio furniture‘ style. It is more of a vinyl type fabric (Like OEM). Used the same on our last boat. It weathers very well especially in the CA Sun….

Possibly Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl. My favorite to sew and for comfort and longevity. Sadly Sailrite seems to have dropped this product line so I have to get it elsewhere.
