cockpit sideboard wood?

Ok everybody thanks for the input .Iv,e spoke with a few wood pro,s at a few lumber yards ,marine and otherwise and the marine guys pretty much said to use 1/2" fir plywood exterior grade 1 or aruco (spell check that) so aruco it is I will pick it up friday and start cutting and beveling the edges to coat it with resin before gluing down the foam and new nautolex vynil .Have a great turkey day !!! I know this is a very old thread, but didn't want to start a new one. I have a friend who's brother in law is in the construction industry. He is asking about using Versatex or Azek PVC board to replace plywood panels. We tried stapling and glueing an both appeared to hold. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what was your experience?
Wondering about cracking or other issues. I was thinking about recovering with vinyl as if it were plywood if there was no issues. Seaboard is just too pricey to do right now.
