This should prove I am a dedicated boater. I drove 4 hrs each way to the Cleveland boat show yesterday. It may just prove I'm nuts.
The Belle of the ball was the Sea Ray 450DB. What a beauty (blow out priced at 800K). I really like the Cruisers Cantius....great layout, fit & finish. Here are some pics:

Thanks for the pics Quint... I only go every three or four years but its nice to see it this year...Thanks...did you get any free Sea Ray stuff?

No free stuff, didn't ask. Used to get a hat every year.

Last time I went got two hats, key floats, cups,a poster, and free drink tickets... was just curious if they still did that sort of thing...

I really do not understand the point of these huge discounts. I would be puzzled should I buy today.
Moreover it would be hard for me to get the feeling of where’s the lower limit.

I am loving that new hull color on the larger Sea Rays.

It looks like the Cleveland show was much better than the Chicago show!

Was thinking about running over tomorrow evening. Was it worth going to?

Went to the show this evening (Tuesday). Really small - glad we were able to get in for free with a donation of canned food. Even that promotion did not draw a crowd.

Good representation of Sea Rays by Marine Max - Catawba Island. Still not too thrilled with the layouts of the new 280 and 310 Sundancers compared to the same boats from the mid-2000's. Also, based on the prices of the new ones, we will continue our search for a used 280. If we were in the market for a day boat, the 260 SunDeck would be our choice.

Overall, the show was very small. We arrived around five o'clock and there were several people already leaving - show opened at three.

Nice pics. Thanks for the boat show prices. Love the bridge on the 450. Prefer the interior of my boat. Cabins are the same as mine.

At those prices.....I'll be repowering classics for years to come! The new boat smell is nice though, Mike.

no kidding! considering that 280 sundancer is about another $100k over my 270, I think I'll stick to my "old and beat" err....."classic". oh well shows are always a fun way to dream about warmer weather:)

From the looks of it the 280 replaces the old 260, the 250 is the old 240 and the 260 is a new model

I love the 450 DB, but for 800k I would rather buy a waterfront condo in Florida. And own 2 sea rays, one down there and one up here.

Those discounts ranged from 20% to 35% (on the 260). I'm guessing that's about what a good negotiator could buy them for any day of the week. It also drops the prices of similar models that are 2-3 years old, and all the way on down the line.

I wonder if that SR dealer had expected the economy to rebound by this summer and placed his new inventory orders with that in mind. With the economy still in the toilet I'd bet there are going to be few new and used boats sold this summer unless the pricing is very attractive. Those who own boats for sale and really want them to sell will price them accordingly. Those who don't care if it sells or not will be left holding onto their fiberglass.

Here is a few more 450DB pics:

John,

These were my exact thoughts. I also liked the aft cockpit setup with the built in grille etc.

My GW insists on the 310! She keeps begging, pleading, and arm dragging me to the dealer!
Of course' I'm like, NO! We do not need a bigger boat!
(this time next year, I'll have to re-learn a new boat) Win-Win!
