MarineMax yesterday listed 50 used boats for auction on eBay. It said in a statement that it is selling the boats at "all-time historic lows".
The national marine retailer said it has been selling boats on eBay for about four years, though this "Clear the Decks Clearance Sale" is the largest boat auction it has created. The Sea Ray, Cabo, Hatteras, Luhrs, Bertram, Riva, Carver and Contender brands are included, and many have no "reserve" or minimum price.

Nice..........

Wait! It says stern drives but in the photo I can see the underwater exhaust and prop shafts... Is that the same boat I would be bidding on??? Some bait and switch or just poor posting on eBay... I wonder...

Yup, I see Marine Max is happily destroying the resale value of our used boats, again and again and again an..................

Wish I had waited until now to buy.

I'd buy that 320 unless it had something major wrong with it.

It was a little disturbing to see those prices, but keep in mind that the price listed is just the starting bid. Marine Max has reserves on those boats that are not visible. The prices listed are not "buy it now" prices.

With that said, it does send a message to a potential buyer that the opening bid is the target price for a purchase, which can erode the resale value.

My 06 320 is for sale with an asking price of $119. It wil be interesting to see if the the 2 320's listed, sell and at what price.

Vince, Are you getting a bigger boat???

There is no reserve on that 320 - it would say 'Reserve not met' or similar text. With 50 mins left - someone could get a killer deal on it! I wish I was in the market.

That is the plan. I would like to go a little bigger.. A 40 or 42 Sedan Bridge would be a nice move .

I'm not in a rush. If I can sell mine at a reasonable price, I’ll sell it and then spend the winter shopping. I want to stay in my current marina so I need to see what size slips will be available.

I am not an expert on Ebay, but I think the "Reserve Not Met" message only shows up once a bid has been place. That auction ended without any bids.

Hope you sell the boat:smt038 ... It is a lot of fun shopping for a new boat. If you can't stay in your marina, you can come down to the Barnegat Bay join "Capt Ron's" gang...

This looks like warst than what we've seen last year. There were zero bids. However, with ebay you may not have final sale rather good lead to a potential buyer. So, the fact that they didn't sell doesn't mean they wont sell.
