Bought an 07 Sea Ray sport 185. Been cleaning it up here and there for the past few weeks and have tried everything for the the vinyl. Hands down the Magic Eraser is the ticket. I have tried all vinyl safe products and nothing worked. Wish I had a better pic but you can see the difference. A little time consuming but worth it. Hope it helps anyone trying to clean it up.

I wrote up a long post about vinyl cleaning. See your other thread.

There's no such thing as magic. In this case, the "magic" is actually performed by sanding away not only the dirt, but a thin layer of your vinyl. Don't make a habit of this.

Frank makes a good point, too.

Real simple and cheap.....use soft scrub with a mild brush. Wet down vinyle apply soft scrub, brush and let sit for a bit. May need to repeat process a couple of times but works great. I used to detail boats after I retired to keep busy and was shown this cheap method years ago.

What did Frank say? I found the other identical thread and it had the same message from Frank " See your other thread". I thought he was pulling a fast one!

Is the thread you're referring to on Skip's site? Are you an sturmin8r posting there? I don't see what you mean. I think I'll start another thread.

Todd,
There were several multiple posts by the OP. I saw 2 of them originally. I'm assuming the third is where Frank posted.

It appears Frank was pulling a fast one or was trying to teach the OP about multiple posting!!:smt038:lol::smt043:lol:

Soft Scrub uses abrasive to clean as well. Use Spray Nine instead. It is safe for use on vinyl and cleans better than any of the other products mentioned here.

How do I know? Because I have tried all of the products mentioned and learned from my own mistakes.:smt021

I wouldnt say use Magic Eraser all the time. I purchased the boat used and the vinyl had a grey tint to it. I tried Marine Nine and several other non bleach products, but nothing cleared it up. Magic Eraser didnt seem to wear through the vinyl. The protective UV your talking about Im unaware of but the previous owner didnt keep up with it so I had to do something. Now I just use soap and water and always spray 303 protectant on after every wash. Im pretty anal about washing and wash after every use so the 303 goes on at least once a week. I greatly appreciate the posts just wanted to see what people are using and the effects of it. Havent tried soft scrub may try that if I ever have to deep clean again. Thanks again fellas!
